Is there anyone out there that has been in Weight Watchers, come to a standstill in their weight loss, and then went on the Lo-carb? Did you loose weight during induction or is it possible to gain weight? My daughter is getting ready to try the Lo-carb after having a long stall on Weight Watchers. Is it possible to gain after the Weight Watchers or will she loose more weight?

The most I could ever lose on WW was about 35lbs. I had a good year long break between WW and LC, though, so I lost fine.

If she starts LC right away, she *may* put on a couple pounds while her body adjusts, but then she should start taking off relatively quick.

Maybe to make the transition easier, she can continue eating the same types of proteins that she is on WW, and slowly add the higher fat items in; starting with salad dressing, and progressing on to full fat cheeses, nuts, etc.

The toughest part is going to be changing her mindset. WW is all about low fat, and counting points. LC is all about quality fats/proteins/water, and you count nothing but carbs initially.

I went from WW to LC after a long WW stall (during which I was not always "legal," I will admit). I lost just fine during induction. As shrinky points out, changing the mindset is a challenge. I went through a lot of "WHAT?! I can't have THAT?" and had to look up just about everything. Must say it was a very pleasant change of pace to stop obsessing about every drop of fat, though!

I did CAD for a year, went off of it. Gained 40 pounds back when I found out I had arthritis. I lost 25 pounds doing just WW. I was amazed I could lose weight and eat things like cinammon bun flavored oatmeal. When I had a small gain last November, I returned to CAD. I combine CAD and WW together. When I post my journal, I show the points and the foods I ate. I tried another plan for a few months and went into a roller coaster ride of gaining and losing the same 5-6 pounds for several months. I was eating too much fruit and cereal per day and was contantly hungry. I went back to strict CAD and have slowly been losing weight again. I am still going to WW, although it frustates me sometimes. (I would eat higher calorie foods if I weren't counting points) (I am at over 65 pounds lost since I staterd WW last October, even with the three months of the roller coaster ride.)
