On day 4 of Induction I was down 6 pounds, I had breakfast, but then ended up skipping lunch and dinner, it was a crazy day, but I can't believe I did that. I had a really late snack at a friend's house, some pasta & potatoe salad, and one alcholic beverage. Then on Day 5 I ended up having 2 slices of pizza in the morning, no lunch, and chicken souvlaki for dinner, with the rice and potatoes, plus 2 cans of orange crush.
I had a really bad weekend with my eating, its Monday and now I am back on track. I felt really gross this morning, and my energy levels are out of whack. I am not going to give up, I am just starting from where I left off.

hi crazygal,

Glad to see your back at it.

IMHO I would just start induction all over again because you fell off so early in the induction stage and it was for 2 days. If you really don't want to restart then I would just add 2 days to your induction period. Try not to skip meals because it makes it really hard to keep from eating everything in sight, and if you don't eat then your metabolism will slow down as well.

I have a crazy schedule sometimes too and it is so hard not to skip meals. I used to do it a lot more than I do now. But I have made a point to make sure I eat. Maybe keep some cut up veggies on hand for a quick snack on the go if need be. A little is better than nothing and might keep you from binging at night.

I had to start induction over as well on day 2. I had a little slip (well big..a cupcake) but I went right back on that day but was advised to start over anyways. It wasn't so bad. Good luck, hope you enjoyed your meals so you don't want anything for awhile!

If you're only 4 days into induction, and fell off for half that time, I would recommend restarting induction as well. A single slip wouldn't have been cause for restarting, but everything carb loaded that you've eaten will stay in your system for a good 2 days or so.. Better to just restart, and get it all out...

Congrats on that 6 pound loss. What you are feeling is a carb hangover that we all get when we cheat. I would just add a couple more days to induction and make sure you are in ketosis. By sticking with the plan you will lose that urge to cheat. I know sometimes it can be hard if you are away from home, etc. but you will have to learn how to do this. On that pizza, what you should have done was just to not eat the crust, picking off all the goodies. The orange crush? well its a shame it wasn't diet crush as all flavors are sweetened with splenda. Don't beat yourself up over this but just move on and learn from the experience. Like someone said previsouly, we sure pay for what we do (or eat in this case). You can do this and succeed. Just don't ever let yourself get so hungry that you are willing to eat anything. It was just that purpose that I used the bars for during induction. It was before I learned where I could eat out and what I could eat and knew I would be away from home so I stashed a bar in my purse. Other than that I avoided the bars. On eating out, fyi, Denny's shrimp scampi only has 3 carbs, their buffalo wings have 1 carb, and their green beans also only have a couple and they are very willing to just give you the shrimp and double the green beans, and hold the roll! Don't eat their carrots... they are honey glazed (i learned the hard way)

Best of Luck,
Susan

I answered your pop question back on the other thread.
I just wanted to add....
I hope you do not feel discouraged with the advice given here in this thread. I did, because I thought wow people have really told me how much I screwed up. I was like, geez I just had a cupcake. But it is true, you need to get the stuff out of your body so the cravings will stop. Good luck

PS you made me want souvlaki, grrrr

Steph is right.. Definitely don't feel discouraged. A major part of ultimate success is based on trial and error..

Thank you everyone for your advice, I definetly don't feel discouraged, I am starting over, and I am going to do this right this time. I did get my cravings out of the way, and now I am back on track. I still have to get some diet crush from somewhere.

Sounds to me like you're doing great! You had a minor setback, you recognized the problem, and you corrected for it. I call that successful!

If you can't find Diet Orange Crush, look for RC Diet Tangerine Soda (they also make a white grape and a raspberry that are really good). No carbs, no caffeine, sweetened with Splenda. Good luck -- never give up this WOE!!!
