I restarted atkins on 8/25 with a coworker and we did great for 2 weeks. Then i got transfered to a different shop for a while.I came back to my original workplace today and found my atkins bud eating cheesits!!
She said that after years of low fat she cant mentally get over all the fat on atkins. and is back to low fat low cal.I tried to persuade her and gave her tons of facts to no avail.
I was in the third week slow down but upped my veggies and water and exercise and ended up with a loss of 14lb in 1 month.Im down from a 16/18 to a loose 14. still she wont be swayed.
Im so thankfull for this board and all the info and support here without it i would be lost.

Huh? Since when are Cheezits low fat and/or low cal?! That's how I put ON 20 plus pounds - my former employer bought the huge boxes of Cheezits at Costco and every time I walked by it, I grabbed a handful!

I don't think you can persuade anyone to do anything they aren't mentally prepared to do, so I'd say save your breath, just do what you're doing, and she'll see your results soon enough!

You're doing GREAT by the way, keep up the good work!

Yup - Cheezits had me hooked. Every day that I worked I had my little baggie of Cheezits. There should be a law...

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday

Cheezits~~you can't eat just one (handful).

Beal, I cannot talk anyone I work with to join me either . They think the results are great, nut they keep saying they cannot live without their potatoes, bread, etc. Yes you can, I am still alive and feeling great!

You are doing terrific!

Thank God I've never been able to stand fake cheeze. I'm so lucky.

Beal, just wait. Your friend will be back one day, dragging her low-carb cheezit-dragging butt behind her. And you'll be thin and gracious.

Beal, you may have lost your Atkins bud to Cheezits, but look how many new buds you've got!

WEll, the proof is in the (LC) pudding. People are taking notice now and asking how I am doing it(losing weight) and I simply say.........Low Carb. And I leave it at that. If they ask, I tell. Otherwise I let them ponder it awhile. I have casual conversations about what I had for dinner the night before, eyebrows raise and sometimes they even ask for the recipes. I like to demonstrate what I CAN eat and leave off the part of what I can't eat. So people are hearing about this awesome food I am eating and can see that I am losing. If they think about it at all, they MAY become converts. IF they are ready for my guidance, I will most certainly lend a hand. I ALWAYS point them to this site in the hopes they will jump onboard. If they don't..........oh well, it's their choice. I like to be subtle sometimes. No preachin' here.

Barb,

My biggest fear about giving people recipes who aren't currently LCing is that they'll make it, then add noodles, rice or a potato to it for their dinner. You can gain BIG TIME by eating like that. Then they'll think that LC is a bunch of bunk and not try. Do you ever run into that?
