Hi all,

I just found this recipe in your database of recipes and I was wondering if its ok to eat during induction? Is cream cheese a goer during this time? or should I avoid it?

1 8oz. package softened cream cheese
1 envelope (large kind) sugar free jello (any flavor)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
cool whip(optional)

Make jello according to directions. With mixer (mix very well) cream cheese and vanilla. Add cream cheese mix to jello. Combine well. Pour into pie plate or in individual cups. Cool in frig 4-6 hours. Or freeze. Top with cool whip. Enjoy and eat it all!

per serving
Carbs 1.5
net carbs 1.5

Hi Kaz, It sounds like a great recipe except maybe for the Cool Whip. I've never checked out Cool Whip to see what's in it. In the beginning I ate the sugar free jello at least twice a day with my own whipped cream (whipping cream, Splenda, and vanilla). Be careful of the recipes that you find on any forum. I have copied a lot of recipes and then after looking at them carefully realized they were much higher in carbs than what the recipe claimed. If you like eating jello I'd start looking up some jello salads for diversity. -Gracie Mae

The carb count is about right if you make your own whipped cream. Cool Whip is NOT a suitable food.

My personal exerience with cream cheese is to gain weight or stall. I made the same recipe two weeks ago (without the Cool Whip, lots of added junk in it) and gained 2 pounds. This may not happen to you, as we are all different, but if you find you went up look at your cheese intake. Of course, you may not eat the whole thing by yourself either .
