Exercise is just about the best (and only) thing there is.

Jestey is right, exercise is a great way. I'm trying to add more of the spices that get it going somewhat. Like Cayenne instead of Black Pepper.

I've read that VCO (virgin coconut oil) can increase metabolism. It would be on of those cases of YMMV. Try this website:

It's also reported that green tea can help speed up your metabolism. I think I read that 2-4 cups a day can give you a decent boost!

Synthroid (thyroid hormone). Have your doctor run a thyroid panel blood test on you. A lot of overweight people have some level of thyroid insufficiency. You might qualify for a low dose of Synthroid, which might be helpful.

Pearson and Shaw (Life Extension) used to recommend wearing very light clothing, like shorts and thin t-shirts, to raise your metabolism and burn more calories per day.

Terese and everybody, here is the page from the VCO website, that explains how this product impacts metabolism.

Doctor I, I thought that Synthroid was something that actually slowed down weight loss. I take a low dose & thought Doctor A's book gave me that info. I don't have it handy, so I'm not sure. Does this mean that I've lost one of my excuses for not losing like I think I should?!?!

Um... I'm pretty darn sure that both Synthroid or the older Armour Thyroid will increase your metabolism and cause you to burn calories faster. For as long as I can remember, people have said that going on thyroid pills makes you lose weight faster.

My own personal experience has been that it's possible to gain weight even while on Synthroid, especially if you eat like a pig like me. It raises your metabolism, but this can also raise your appetite level, so it tends to even out a bit.

Still, I'd rather be on even a low dose of Synthroid than none at all. Dieting tends to lower your metabolism over the course of time.

So I'm not supposed to eat like a pig?
Snort, snort.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.) What you say makes sense.
