New to the low carb diet PLEASE ADVISE

Broccoli is fine.. No beans or carrots on induction.. Can't remember about beets, but I'm going to guess no, because they're awfully sweet.

Have you read the book yet? That would probably be your best bet.

It's a good idea to read the book, or at least search around the Atkins site for info.

Understanding more about this woe and how it works will help you find success.

Beets have an ECC of 4.67 in a half cup of slices according to www.fitday.com . But they are rated a 70 on the glycemic index about the same as potatoes. Remember sugar was made from beets before sugar cane was discovered. On maintenance or pre-maintenance you might be able to have them. Just have them with a source of fat and protein to cut down on the Glycenic effect.
