Hi to everyone, I am brand new. I have read several posts and need to know where are you getting your info on induction etc. I am brand new to the low carb way of life and need to know more info about how many carbs I should be eating, meal ideas, etc. Maybe I have missed a spot on this web site?? Can you guide me in the right direction so I can get the info I need regarding my body type, height and weight requirements, etc. Thank you for your help and looking forward to the support I will need to begin this new way of life.

My advice is to buy the book and read it cover to cover. While there is a plethora of information out there (and from the wonderful people here on LCE), it is important to have all the facts in one place.

Welcome...and good luck!

Hello,

I'm new as well... Today is my first day starting back. I haven't tried it for 6 months now... Good luck... Hey let me know how you're doing in induction. Today I'm having roasted chicken I cooked at home with egg drop soup I had left over from lastnight before deciding to do the low carbs.. 161/161/141...

Thanks,

What Kellie said. Choose your program, buy the book...read the book.

Make sure you check with your doctor if you have any health considerations.

Best wishes to both of you!

I agree that you really need to have a book on hand. If you have not yet picked a plan, then surfing the web and asking questions will help you decide, but once commited buy the book .

Susan gave you good advice about consulting your doctor. Mine reminded me that I should have checked with him before I started Adkins.

Good luck to you both! Keep coming back here with your questions.

I am also new and have the book and it certainly helps. My problem is that I don't like eggs very much and need suggestions for breakfast. I'm a nurse and leave very early in the morning and usually eat at my morning break(9:30ish). I'd really appreciate suggestions.
Can I have an Atkins breakfast bar(2 carbs) during induction??
Thanks for your support this is great site!

Inga - NO BARS ON INDUCTION!

They are made with sugar alcohols and CAN cause people problems. If you read the back of the label, you'll see that they contain more like 16 carbs (including the sugar alcohols)

Here's an article you should read about them...

http://www.lowcarbeating.com/article...ewbies_13.html

As for breakfast, I would recommend chicken salad, tuna salad, or egg salad wrapped in a lettuce leaf. Fast and easy because you can have the salad made the day before and make enough for several mornings.

If you want something hot, nothing beats a very thin steak or pork chop. They cook super fast and taste good.

You might also like my French Toast Pancakes, they use eggs but don't taste eggy.

Here's the link...

Good luck!

I actually eat cheesecake for breakfast often. I have been experimenting with recipes. There's one in the oven right now but it had 5 eggs in it and looks more like a souffle! Anyway, after cooking and cooling until firm, I slice it with dental floss and put them into individual ziploc baggies and freeze them. I take one out the night before and stick itin the frig and it is perfectly sweet and creamy in the morning.
