My heartburn has pretty much just completely disappeared. I had 2 incidents of it in the last 6 months, as opposed to having EVERYDAY. The first time was after I ate some homemade LC ketchup late in the evening. The second time was when I had a decaf coffee in the evening. I no longer have any problem with it. I have suffered with it ALLLLLLLLL my adult life. I am so happy to be free of it, once and for all. I haven't tasted a Tums or a Pepcid for months now. WOOOHOOO

On LC, getting rid of the sugar and starches puts acid reflux to sleep!

Take care

I second that. I no longer have the industrial sized jar of pepcid in my locker at work. It's so great to never have that burning and pressure in my chest. In fact not having heartburn helps me stay the course. I'm actually afraid to eat anything that may have flour in it. I'm not sure if its the wheat or the starch for me but I don't want to experiment to find out!!!

Hi Opel, I am so very happy to say that I no longer have acid reflux, or indegestion or heavy feeling or have I purchased TUms or Pepcid or papaya enzyme. I recently had a upper GI and I am so clear. No problems Thank the LORD and this WOL. It is such a relief to eat and know that I won't have any problems in a little while. It was such a wonderful "side effect" especially after eating bacon & eggs. I always blamed my problem on them never on the toast or home fries. What an education we get eating this way. Good Luck to you in this new WOL

Opel~

I was on various prescription and over-the-counter acid reflux/GERD meds for years, and even had a couple of endoscopies because the discomfort was so chronic and intense. I was advised to avoid spicy foods, coffee, and alcohol, but that didn't help one bit.

Since I converted to the Atkins Nutritional Approach a little over year ago, I haven't had ANY episodes of heartburn. Not one, never ever, nada, zip, zilch. NO heatburn. For me, low-carbing cured my indigestion and heartburn problems completely and immediately. Amazing!!

(By the way, I drink coffee and red wine almost every day, and use cayenne pepper and other hot stuff with abandon. Life is good!)

Best wishes,

Sky

Hello, I have to agree with what everyone else has said. I use to live on Rolaids, but I have not had to take one in a couple of months. This WOE really helps.
