I work in a Pharmacy..really they say the things you have to watch are Cough Drops, Cough medicines...stuff like that because they have sugar...but there are NO sugar alternatives. As Far as any Prescription Medications??? I dont think so....Although if you have read the Atkins book There is mention of people having more trouble losing because of Medications they are on....[list]

Antidepressants

High Blood Preasure Medicines

Birth control

Steroids
Just to name a few.....Im sure there are more. But cant remember what the book said?
Oh well talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist Im sure they will help you with that stuff
Good Luck

Thanks for your thoughts Jen and Lisa but I am looking for an article that had carb counts on non-prescription drugs. I thought I saved it to my computer but I am not finding it. I know there are starches in Tylenol, advil, cold meds and your right there is sugar or asperteme in cough drops.

My poor hubby is suffering here and is concerned about his carb counts! What a guy huh?! And I thought only I was the once concerned!

Blessings,

Carol

If you want a shock on carbs, read the label on regular Metamucil. Be sure to get sugar free or the capsules if you find a need for some extra fiber.

How about codeine cough syrup? I rely on that stuff when I get a cold. Do they make a sugar-free version?

Yeah, I would most certainly recommend staying away from the Metamucil and commercial brands like that. Even the sugar free has unnecessary carbs. I prefer plain-old psyllum husk capsuls.

Kellie,

Where so you get the psyllum husk capsules? I haven't been able to find them.

There is a store in Ann Arbor, MI, called Arbor Farms, which is a HFS. They sell them there. If you can't find the capsuls at your local HFS, you might want to find psyllum husks in bulk, as well as gelatin capsuls and make your own. I know this sounds like a lot of work -- I am sure it would be -- but it would be worth it to me as I *hate* the gritty tastes of the fiber mixes. Plus, there are to many fillers.

Sorry I wasn't much help!
