I promise if I make it through this, I'll not cheat again (for a long time).

This weekend, I went out with my husband and we just had a great time. But now, I am physically sick. I am not so sick about the fact that I cheated, I am sick at my stomach. I added bread, sugar and potatoes this weekend, just because I wanted it! Wrong answer, I should've controlled myself because now, I have the brain fog and I am TIRED!!

I am really drinking the water today trying to flush all this out of my system. I hope it works...and you can have my word on this, no more cheating!!

When I go out and I am "forced" to view/eat a lot of things I don't normally eat any longer (bread, potatoes, sugar, etc) I try to pick one I will eat a little of if I can't stand being surrounded that many "no"foods. Saturday I went to a gathering of people I used to work with. There was veggie trays (ate some), fruit trays (ate some), sandwich trays (ate meat, got rid of bread) picles, and chips (potato and I ate 10 of them). Then to top it off there was cake and ice cream (amys - best in austin)... well.... I decided I hadn't had ice cream in 2 months, the cake didn't even call my name, so I had a little ice cream - and savored every bite. Next meal was salad, and drank lots of water sat and sunday.... so, try next time to have one or the other, not all .... it helps me to decided which one I really can't stand not having.... and maybe the "physical sickness" will be less.. You're doing great, 10 lbs in about one month isn't bad at all... Stick with it and you'll make it.

Excellent advice Carolyn!

Hang in there Regina, it's a learning process. We all go through it and are STILL going through it.

Oh I know that feeling from the days before lcing.

Not sure if this helps but I keep a note up on the fridge that says what makes me physically sick so if I go in to eat it I know what to expect. I went to grandmas house a few weekends ago and all she had were ribs(those prepackaged ones with sause) and salad. Well those ribs gave me the sickest feeling the next day that lasted for a few days. Taught me a lesson that I am very sensitive to alot of chemicals and probably will be for the rest of my life.

Keep doing what your doing and flush that stuff out. Hope this feeling your having goes away soon. Keep your chin up!

Blessings,

Carol

My DH and I were invited to a friends Birthday dinner last night...The menu was a chicken and green bean type casserole, but with rice..I told my friend we would bring a dish, this way I knew it would be something we could eat...We made sausage and peppers...They had a variety of cheeses and a large mixed salad...We did fine and took what we were supposed to eat..Well, since it was a BIRTHDAY dinner, they brought out a chocolate mousse cake and a wonderful looking carrot cake...It was tempting, but I knew if I took any, I would just feel too guilty, so I had a cup of coffee with cream instead, and was very satisfied!! ...

Good luck to all...

Tina

Oooh Carolyn I'd find it hard to turn down Amy's as well. They were showing Pulp Fiction two weeks ago at the Alamo Drafthouse and served $5 milkshakes courtesy of Amy's - hard to, but was resisted.

regina,

stop kicking yourself!! the only way I can stay on this woe is to tell myself that it's about making better choices most of the time. I'm not perfect and, despite what my dh thinks, I don't know anyone who is! I'm gonna eat a piece cake or a brownie or some ice cream again someday...just not today!

i had to realize that so-called normal people eat what they want SOMETIMES then don't become suicidal over it. I am working on getting to a normal relationship with food. (Aren't we all? )

You did it, you lived through it, now just make better choices today! Good luck. And tons of hugs.

I'm with everyone else.......don't beat yourself up, just get back on the horse. But.......lesson learned, eh? Is it really worth it to fall that hard, I think not. Chalk it up to one of life's hard lessons and move on. Good you have a place like this to "confess" and we all know what it's like.

Giddyup.

This is probably a bad thing, but I have found it's the only way I can stay on this WOE; one day a week I have what I want. If something has been calling my name, I tell myself that I can have it on Sunday. That helps me stay away from it during the week, and usually only a taste is sufficient on Sunday (although sometimes I'm bad ALL day, like last weekend! ). And I try to have better things to snack on, like Skinny Cows or Smart Ones fudge bars when I am craving ice cream. It may be slowing down my loss, but it keeps me from abandoning this WOE altogether, so it's better than the alternative for me.

Amazon, only you can say what's bad for you. We aren't here to judge you. You do what you need to do and be happy. As long as you're happy with what your doing then that's good enough.I don't stick to the plan perfectly all the time but I'm happy and it's helping me be healthier.

The knowledge that I am going to get really sick is what helps me stay low carb. I am afraid to eat something higher carb. The 2 times I have done it I felt terrible, very sick at my stomach. It is a great motivator .
