well this might sound weird, but some friends of mine are going to BW3 to watch football this weekend and i was wondering about wings. i love spicy wings, but they also have a spicy garlic butter sauce. have any of u had them, or know if hot wing spices are ok for induction?
also i was reading a post earlier about coke, i love diet coke! i can drink 6-10 cans a day. i read somewhere that caffein is no good, so i do have some caffein free(which isn't as good) i have also cut back to about 2-3 cans/day. i read to stay away from aspertame on the diet, why is that? what is different in the sweetner used by lc, and aspertame? just confused. if i do drink caffein diet, how many carbs do u count for it?
ok, i know this is alot to ask but just curious.
thanks for all replys.

Dana,

I can somewhat address the BW3 issue. DH and I love their wings. The Spicy Garlic has 1 carb per 2T. Most of the mild, medium and hot sauces have just 1 or 2 carbs per 2T. Just be sure to stay away from the Carribean Jerk. It has 7 carbs per 2T. And that one was always our favorite before the LC WOE. I would also stay away from the Teriyaki and the Sweet or Hot BBQ. Don't know about the Thai sauce. Also BW3 normally is heavy on the sauce, but we just ask them to go light on the sauce and we actually think they are better that way. I like to taste the chicken too, not just the sauce. And that way you can eat more without going overboard with the sauce. As far as being in the induction phase, I'd say eat them sparingly anyway. You want your carbs to come from good veggie sources during induction. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I shoud have been more specific. That would be 2 tablespoons. That's the way it's stated on the nutrition lables on their bottles of sauce. They have a pretty good Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad too. Just ask for no croutons. Now I'm getting hungry for some wings. LOL. We'll be back in Indiana tomorrow night. DH and I just might have to stop at the local BW3 and have some.

Dana,
One of the perks of this woe, IMO, is wings. I love buffalo wings, and eat them often. Two things I would suggest: no breaded wings, and if you're not sure about the sauce when you order them in a restaurant, ask your server.
As for the diet Coke, many people are sensitive to caffeine and aspartame. Either of them can cause them to stall. If you drink that much Coke and are still losing, then you may be ok; but 6-10 cans, especially if you are on induction, is way too much. Water should be your beverage of choice. After you've had all your water in a given day, a Coke or two is probably fine. You might want to try Diet Rite cola, it's sweetened with Splenda.

Here is how I am fighting my soda addiction.

I have a 12 oz. water for every 12 oz. can of Diet Coke I drink. My day goes: D. coke, water, d. coke, water, etc.

Soon, I will switch to D. coke, water, water, D. coke, water, water, D. coke, water, water, etc.

Seems to be working so far.

Oh yes hot wings are a delight with this way of life. I have been known to "go to town" on hot wings with bleu cheese. As beforementioned, stear clear of the breaded kind.

This is hard to come by, but Diet RC cola is sweetened with Splenda. It's probably a better choice for your diet soda fix.

You could also try Diet Pepsi. I read that it has less caffine then Diet Coke or even diet 7-up.
Good Luck!
