Ok...so today is my 4th day on the Atkins. My co-worker is doing it with me and she says that she has lost 4 lbs already. I haven't noticed any change yet. Is it normal to lose right away, or will I lose after the Induction phase is over?

Everybody loses at different rates but if you are only are day 4 I would definitely NOT give up the ship yet.

Keep in mind that people who lose a lot right off the bat are losing mostly WATER WEIGHT. Maybe you weren't as bloated as she was to begin with.

I recommend you give it a solid 2 weeks and if you've not lost ANYTHING (not even inches) then pay closer attention to what you are eating. And be SURE you are drinking your water. Lots and Lots of water!!! You need to be doin' the pee-pee dance! LOL

I second that on the pee-pee dance!

UGGHHH why oh why did I wear a skirt with hose today?! It makes it so frustrating when you have to keep going back and forth to the restroom all day long!

LOL, no kidding. I like that "the Pee Pee Dance" I didn't lose but 6 lbs until the middle of my second week on induction. And the weight comes off in spits and dribbles, so don't get frustrated if you get stuck once in awhile. I go a good 3 weeks every month before I see a 1-2 lb whooooooosh. I have been doing this now for 7 months and have lost 27 lbs so far. It's slow, but I am very HAPPY with my loss. I have 12 lbs to go before I reach my goal. And EVERYONE is noticing now. It took about the 20lbs mark before most ppl noticed. Take measurement for sure. Measure yourself about once a month and record it. This way you get a visual of your loss even if the scale doesn't cooperate.

Could not tell you how much, really go by the way the clothes are fitting. On several successful diets (took pills, successful but yet- not smart) lost more in inches then I did in actual weight. I have always felt that as long as you look good and feel good in what you are wearing, then I am 100% with how the diet is going. I have been on for 6 weeks now, and will tell you I am wearing clothes that I could not get within a yard of wearing two years ago..Thank god for many smaller sizes in the closet, I will just take another outfit month at a time to seek how it is going.
Feel great, actually can say never have felt better! Keep it up, you will notice a difference soon

i lost weight the first day, but i think that it was just water, cause i never used to drink that stuff. And look at me now sipping on some right now. LoL And as of right now i've lost 25 pounds well 27 some days and others 25. I keep on loosing and gaining the same 2 or 3 pounds. Its crazy but i'm sticking to it. If i can do it you can do it.

My weight loss is SO SLOW! I started on July 1, 2003 and have only lost 11 lb. in almost 4 months (will by 4 months by October 31, so we will see if any more comes off in the next week or so.)

That is about 3 lb. a month! But I am taking it! I am taking every pound that is given to me and I am happy with it! I figure it probably came onto my body at a rate of 3 lb. a month!

I haven't even gone down a size yet, but my size 18 clothes are fitting looser now. Maybe another 5 lb. and I can get into size 16!
