Hi again,
I'm concerned because tomorrow will be my 2 week mark on induction and all I have lost is 2 pounds . I have not been a bad girl at all. Every stick I have used has been positive <everyday...sometimes twice a day>. I upped my water, lowered my diet sodas and salt. The first time I did induction over a year ago, I lost 11 pounds. Could I now be resistant....or what? I have not had any bars or shakes, been staying on a straight course as far as I can tell. Any advise is surely appreciated.

It would help if you would post some of your meals. There may be something there that others will see as potential stallers.

Hey there! Sorry to hear you are having such a frustrating time on this plan. Which one are you on? Have you picked a specific one, read the book and such?

Maybe you can post a few days worth of menus for the experts on this site to have a look at. Maybe there are some hidden carbs or something else that might be inhibiting your weight loss. Do you take any mediciatons that could possibly stall you? Let us know!

THANKS,

breakfast,
Usually a 2 egg omlette w/sautted mushrooms, onions, bacon or steak, shredded cheese.... water

lunch,
usually a salad or today was 2 leftover bratworths. squash.

snacks are usually something like cheese, pork rinds, celery with cream cheese or leftover stuff.

dinners is usually a portion of meat, green beens or other allowed veggie and a salad with no carb dressing. My salads I add 1 egg, 2 slices of ham, about 4 cherry tomatoes and shredded cheese.

Can you be in ketosis for an extended time and not lose weight?

thanks Steph,
Really haven't changed meds in the last year since My first induction. I know I had not been drinking enough water up until a few days ago and maybe too much sodium. I guess I'm just baffled because I have been in Ketosis this whole time.

Christine -

It's very typical for people to have a more difficult time on the second try at low carb. The same thing happened to me.

Frankly, I'd be happy about losing the 2 pounds and go from there.

I also agree with SpecialK, if you post a few menus, we might be able to see a trouble spot that you don't.

I would say lose the cherry tomatos (too sweet) and pork rinds (too salty) until after doing one more week of induction.

And I'm gonna make it this time!

Christine, it looks good to me. I'd just hang in there, keep doing things like you've been doing, and wait for the whoosh fairy.

Christine... I am actually going through the exact same thing... My first time on Atkins during induction I lost 12 lbs and lost a total of almost 20 in 3 months...was thrilled and then the holidays came and that was it.. So a year later I am back on and Ive lost 6 pounds in 6 weeks.... I am a bit frustrated but still is my fault for not exercising. I have made some great dishes and love eating this way...but I keep hoping to one day see the whoosh! to keep me believing... Good Luck!

Amanda,
Thanks for responding. At the very least we both know we can do it, we have done it and know it works. I think one of my problems is that I took it off so fast the first time, that even though I saw the weight creeping back, in the back of my mind I thought, "oh well, I guess I'll hit Induction and take it back off quickly." WRONG!!! lol.
So, keep believing. It will happen. Look at it this way, better to lose the 6 than to have gained.
This past monday I took serious all you wiser ones about water. I have been drinking aleast 80-90ozs each day, up from....8-12ozs. Since Monday I have lost 2 more pounds.
Best of luck to you. BTW, I lived in Fremont many moons ago.

Christine
Glad to see you're making progress.
Rob

P.s. I had posted a long message of suggestions but I edited it because you were posting while I was writing my post.

Christine,

Wow you lived in Fremont and are now in SC? WHat a move! Yes I do believe in it..Im just a stubborn one when it comes to my metabolism. I am vowing to start an exercise program before the end if this weekend.. That is why we belong to a gym isnt it? (my dh and I?) I guess I thought it was just for the prestige of saying, " Ya I belong to that gym too"!
Anyway you have a great attitude which is 90% of how you will lose all the weight in the end! Lets keep each other posted on our progress!

Amanda,
Sounds great to me. I'm also going to go back to the gym and use what I've already paid for. They love it when I pay a bunch of money and only come for a few months, lol. Guess that makes me their cash cow??!! lol.
I'm originally from California, my ex-dh <let ya'll guess what the D stands for <sniker>> is military, so we moved here. I like it so I decided to stay.
Please do keep in touch, being new here I'm not sure how to start a buddy list.
