Monday i decided to cheat and i got right back on track the next day. Doesn't it take a couple days for your body to get back into the fat burning mode? The reason i even did this was to see if i could Trick my body into thinking that i was returning to my old eating habits. Has this worked for anyone else?

not sure how long it takes to get back in the fat burning mode, but going right back to the WOE is a good start. Whenever I "cheat"(i don't like to call it cheating, personally I don't like to put the negative conotations on eating food of any kind) I make sure it is over with and the next food I eat is on plan. Once I have gotten back on plan I try to figure out what triggered me wanting that food. carolyn in texas started 8/11/03 327/303/150

I always advise people to drink LOTS of water and do a little extra exercise the next couple of days to counteract the OFF-plan eating. If you get right back on that horse, I don't really consider it a cheat. If it throws you off the horse and you just lie on the ground and don't move, now THAT's a cheat, 'cuz you're cheating yourself AND your body AND the progress you've made. Ya gotta ask yourself WHY did you do it, what was your motivation. We always have choices. Barb Atkins-3/14/03 174/146.6/135 "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

Through the spring and summer, it seemed to take me the better part of a week to get back to place after an off-plan eating event. I would get quite bloated with lots of retained water, and it took 4-5 days of good lc eating and drinking lots water to flush out the excess. But, lately, I seem to recover faster after an off-plan meal. I don't really know why for sure, unless 132 lbs. is an old set point for me. Or, maybe my off-plan meals are more "moderate" than they used to be, as I'm more attuned to this WOE now. Also, some of my medications and supplements have changed. Who knows?!? Not only is everyone's metabolism different, but the metabolism can change over time. The longer you do this and make observations, the more you learn about your own, individual metabolism. ~~~Teelbee 174 (Mar. 2002, highest weight), 164 (Jan. 2003, begin LC) 174/132/137-134 remember, amateurs built the Ark, professionals built the Titanic
