Thats one of those YMMV things but many people do stall with the bars. If you are eating the bars and stall, look at everything you are eating and decide for yourself :-)

Welcome, Joanee.

Sweetgal gave you the best advice you can get on these items. All the various bars contain "iffy" ingredients - things which cause a very large number of people to stall. If you're having a problem, that would be the first thing to look at.

You'll find that this is a very informed and supportive community. Make yourself at home!

(p.s. FYI. You might want to turn off your caps lock. Typing in all caps on a bulletin board is like shouting. )

I use an Atkins bar maybe once a week, and only half of one at a time. I stay away from the Endulge bars, they give me diahrrea. Try to come up with some other sweet treat instead. check out the recipe forum or go to www.lowcarbluxury.com for recipes.

I don't think it's wise to have those bars while on induction.

I do ok with the breakfast bars occasionally (a box of 5 lasts me a month or so).. The Advantage bars turned out to be a problem for some reason.. Not sure why. The Endulge bars are yummy, and I don't have a problem if I eat those once in awhile.

Definitely NOT an every day food, though. If you're going to try them, make sure you don't add any new foods for at least 1 week - see how you do, and then make your own determination on whether or not you can have them. A very, very large portion of people can't touch them without sabatoging themselves.

I posted this reply in another thread on the same subject:

Atkins bars, shakes, cereals, etc. are considered by Atkins to be "convience foods." According to the Atkins Nutrionals site convience foods are for occaisional use, only when "you are unable to find appropriate food, can’t take time for a meal or need a quick snack." Occaisional is defined by the site as 1-2 a week. So even though they're listed as OK for Phase I, they certainly aren't ok for daily use.

I find that, in addition to stalling my weight loss, eating them gets me craving even more sweets. I've had to swear off them, cause if they're in the house, I eat too many!

I think that the Bars are okay for occasional use. If that is what it takes to keep you going, and you can limit it to 1 per week, then go for it.
"Real" whole foods are usually preferred though.

I would not suggest these at all for induction. That 2 weeks is a period in which you are trying to break the sugar/junk food habit and learn to eat healthier, natural foods. Eating these bars during induction just substitutes for the candy bar we'd really rather be eating, and sabotages our attempts to break bad habits. There's really quite a bunch of chemical crap in most of those bars.

Well, not shy about giving my opinion, was I!?
