    Hello All,

He said it! Yep gang hubby said it last night. “You’ve lost a lot of weight and I can tell.” I just wanted to cry with joy. I started Atkins a little over 7 weeks ago because one night I found a had a little too much giggle in my wiggle if you know what I mean. That’s when I decided I need to do something about my weight. I am 5’2 and when I started LC eating I weighed in at 176. To give you a visual it’s an X-LG in clothing on a shot person. Over the past 7+ weeks, I’ve lost a total of 24 lbs. and 21 ½ inches over my whole body. I still have 30+ lbs. to go but I know I can do it. I am eating heather, have more energy, feel great and have moved to OWL.

So I just want all of you that have just started on your new eating lifestyle, don’t give up it can be done.

    Fantastic progress, Sandra.

I believe it was nearly 9 months before I hit my first 25 lbs. Then, again, I didn't stay at induction any longer than the usual two weeks, since I had decided on this being a way of life rather than a race to a goal. I'd had my years of playing with "diets" LOL!

I'm glad you've moved to OWL, since it is often boredom that causes people to abandon this way of eating. The other issue is that if you get to a normalized weight without the long period of learning about yourself and how different foods in different amounts work with your metabolism, you've missed the "educational" period which makes it possible to know how to maintain your new weight.

I wish you continued good results.

    Hey Sandra,

You sound like you are built just like me and have the same weight loss goals!!! When I reached the 20lb mark, DH started grabbing my hiney and saying, "WOW, you're gettin a tiny butt." Now THAT makes it all worthwhile!!!!

Good going, Sandra! It's great when our nearest and dearest notice our efforts--and the best part is, they love us through thick and thin.

I lost a little over 20 lbs. in the first months of lc, but have been in a holding pattern since. Still, I've learned that the lc lifestyle is healthy and sustainable, so further weight loss (the dreaded "last ten pounds") has become somewhat of a secondary goal.

Best wishes as you continue to enjoy the program!

I just Love this place, Everyone is so wonderful!

Maggie you’re so right! I’ve been worried about moving to OWL. I no longer have a page in a book to look at and tell me what to eat on any given day. Growing up is hard to do. It’s been very scary for me to have to learn how to eat right. But I know if I want to do this right that moving up a phase is just part of the process. I too look at this as a way of life and not a diet.

Barb, Yep it looks like we do have the same goal! I’m so glad to have found someone like me. I was beginning to think I was the only 5’2” person around. I wonder if your hubby and my hubby are related… The Grabby Butt Brothers!
