| Ok.. my my opinion is that it would be ok to eat the roast beef with out the bun. The reason why I say this is because I have watched them shave the roast beef myself. It isn't a prepackaged item. At least it wasn't last time I was there. LOL AS for the wings. Not a clue. Never had them. Hopefully some one else can help you out on this part of the topic. | Do all of us lowcarbers a favor and ASK them. The more that people ask restaurant owners what the carb counts are, the more they will believe that their clientel WANT this info. I saw a blurb on our local Chicago news the other day, that the government might be making restaurants include this info in their menues. So if we, Joe Q. Public, request the info, they might see the writing on the wall and start giving us what we want. Barb Atkins-3/14/03 174/146/135 "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing." |

| I worked at Arby's for a couple of years in high school. That's been quite a while ago, but I don't think they've changed the fundamentals of how they handle their roast beef. It actually came to the store in a big wrapped 10-lb. roast-like thing, refrigerated. We baked it for several hours, then it went on the slicer. I guess the thing that would bother me as to whether or not it had anything added is the fact that it was always so perfectly oval-shaped. It had an unnatural shape, as if it was formed by machine. But the meat itself didn't look or taste like "chopped and formed" meat. Perhaps an employee would be willing to go to the cooler and see if it has a label? Karen |

| Arbys meat is processed and reshaped. They add a lot of air that way. This is why the meat feels very light compared to "real" roast beef and why you probably won't get full if you eat several of them without the bun. A better bet would be one of their salads with poultry like chicken caesar. But this tampering with meat is one of teh reasons why I don't go to fast food places anymore. Here's the ingredient list for their roast beef; Trimmed boneless beef chunks (minimum 70%) combined with chopped beef for a maximum of 12% fat. Contains up to 9% of a self-basting solution of water, salt, sodium phosphates. HTH ROB 310/241/180 |

| Thanks for all of your wonderful help, I had actually asked in Arbys but they only had the carb count for the whole sandwich, including the bun....anyone know the answer about the Fridays wings? The last 2 times I was there I got 2 different answers as to whether they were actually coated or not, I could not even tell myself by looking at them. I know there has been lots of talk about wings so just wondering if anyone out there knew. Thanks |
