Hi, I'm new here, I've enjoyed reading the posts for the past few days and hope y'all can help me with this question. I've been on induction for almost two weeks, and I started using the ketone strips a few days ago and the instructions say to test first thing in the morning before breakfast, well I never have any change in the color in the morning, but the strip will turn pink in the afternoon! Whats up with that? Thanks! Annieabc

This was just mentioned in another forum.

The theory is that you are not burning fat at night, so no ketones show up.

Myself, I have been using then successfully for months in the morning without problems...until just recently (which I am investigating).

Welcome Annie,

don't put a TON of stock into the strips. The best way to know if you are losing weight is to take your measurments. If you haven't done so, do it NOW. Measure your Bust or Chest, biceps, thigh (pick a spot you can remember), calf, ankle, waist and wrist. Keep a journal. I measure about once a month. Don't weigh yourself everyday either. Every 2 weeks should be sufficient in the beginning. Keep a journal of the foods you eat, your measurements, your weight and even your ketostix if you want. It really helps to track this stuff in the beginning. And it doesn't matter if you register purple or pink on the stix. If there is even a trace..........you are in ketosis.
