This www.FitDay.com is truly great. I logged on today after prinzess_fay recommended it and can now track the carbs, fats and proteins. Today the carbs were good (21) but the fats were 166 g and the protein was 128 g. Is this good? Can't too many fats turn into sugar if I continue in this eating pattern? The fats constituted 72% of my diet. The protein was 25% and the carbs 3%. It's now almost 1am and I feel like having something but am afraid to injest more protein. HELP. Thanks. Also thanks for all of you who have responded to my previous queries. (:

This isn't abnormal at all. If you stick to induction level carbs all that's left to flesh out the diet (no pun intended) is protein and fat. It looks like you've had about 2100 calories for the day you posted. only 84 of them were from carbs. That leaves about 2000 calories. Determine your protein needs and the rest has to be fat.

Not knowing how large framed you are, your muscle mass/body fat % etc I can't say how much protein you require. It's the protein not the fat that can be converted to carbohydrates by a process called gluconeogenesis. If you determine your protein is too high then you have two choices. Drop calories down by reducing protein and keeping fat the same or increase fats and drop protein to keep calories the same.

The problem is determining adequate protein requirements. I use the protein power plan method. heres a link: http://www.eatprotein.com/answers1.htm#1c

You might choose another method.

Thanks for referring me to the eatprotein site. I calculated the amount of protein and it comes to apx 117g. Since I consumed 128g yesterday I guess I'm in the ballpark. The caloric intake is MUCH more than I'm used to and I must confess I LOVE EATING THIS MUCH! I'll look at the site and sort it out.

Looks like you've been very successful. Great going.

Thanks so much for your input.
