I totally love these new zero carb candy bars!! I have one sometimes two aday. Are they bad? Will they effect my weight loss or me staying in ketosis? Are some I can have and some I should stay away from? Thanks Nicole

Most people find these 0 carb bars to be the main cause of their stalls or to even gain weight.

They are full of sugar alcohols and are best to be avoided, in all honesty.

Sorry to be so harsh...

Thanks, for the advise. This might explain why my weight loss has slowed. The Adkins candy would be alright? Right????

Nope, even the Atkins bars are to be avoided.

What we are trying to get the body into is wholesome, unprocessed foods.

The bars can cause sugar cravings, unfortunately. Take a look in the recipe section of this forum - loads of brilliant "snack" ideas.

Thanks sooo much again for your advise. I just wished I would of asked these questions a couple of weeks ago but im glad i did today. Maybe now I will start to see more weight shedding off since I have decided to completly stop with the candy bars. I also started walking two days ago so with the bars out of my diet and exercise from the walking hopefully I will start to see the pounds coming off again. Thanks again so very much. Nicole

Determined, those bars are the reason I first started checking out these forums. They tasted really good. Suspiciously good...

Yep... HIDDEN CARBS -- aka: glycerine, sugar alcohols (malitol, maltitol, sorbitol, etc.)
SO MANY of us had to learn the hard way!

I think we have an article on this site about "hidden carbs."
Check the ARTICLES database... it will clear up a lot.

Sadly, *most* of us cannot tolerate them.
