weighed myself this morning, feeling terrific hoping to register some weigh loss but after a month, the needle didn't budge.
I felt like crying, I was upset, I wanted to eat carboohos, pasta and cookies then I remember how horrible migraines are and I didn't.Read throough my diary and must admit that I drink about 64 oz of water a day, so I will have to increase that, any other suggestions?
many thanks, Rainbow

Just a thought... Have you tried using Fitday.com? It might help you identify a problem. Are you staying away from "hidden" carbs such as sugar alcohols? Good Luck.

Hi Rainbow, don't cry . I'm sure that the vets here will have lots of good advice (and they're always happy to look at your menus and see where you might need to tweak what you eat), but also remember to look at other indications. You said you feel terrific, that's a fabulous start! I can't think of any other diet I've tried where I actually stuck with it for a month, let alone felt terrific . And how do you look? How do your clothes fit? I'm still within my usual weight fluctuation range (after about a month of low carbing w/ some cheats - though I'm on hardcore induction as of Monday), yet my friends and boyfriend have both said I look thinner in that "wow! you lost weight!" kind of way. I can't see it myself, aside from not feeling bloated, so I took my measurements last night and will take them again next Friday. I also plugged in all my stuff to Fitday.com (which I see someone just suggested) and it gave me a boost to see the actual numbers AND that I'm getting most of the nutrients I should be getting. Other things I've picked up reading these posts are: (as you said) water, water, water!; stay away from the Atkins bars and treats; watch processed foods, including hams and salami and stuff; a number of people have said that the scale didn't move for them for a while, that they started looking and feeling better and then 3 weeks or a month into it the actual weight came off.

But most off all, you feel good and you feel good about what you've been doing! Don't give up! You didn't say you'd gained either, so the only thing you have to lose by sticking with it and figuring out how to make it work is cream, butter, cheese, steak...

I also like to keep in mind that no diet is going to allow the whole bags of cookies and pound and a half of pasta that I occasionally think I want, so we may as well stick with the one that lets us have the occasional pork rind.

So stick with it, you can do it, rah-rah-rah shish boom bah!

Rainbow,

I hope you can cheer up darlin', because we are all here to help! Please post a menu for a typical day, so we can look for possible problems.

It has taken me two months - and a lot of researching - to get to where I am FINALLY losing weight. Atkins bars and shakes really set me back. And possibly the diet soda (even though it had Splenda).

It may be as simple as drinking more water (a gallon is good - you also get your exercise running to the bathroom!), or perhaps you're not eating enough (low fat Atkins can slow you down).

You are on the right path, now it's just a matter of finding ways to avoid the potholes!

Hang in there! This group is always there for you.

Staci

Hi everyone,
I was away from the computer so I could'nt reply. First of all I drink 80oz of water a day,+1 cp of decaf and 1 diet coke
I went out and bought the new updated Diet revolution, read it re-read it especially chapter 20, [dealing with medication]
I have cut down on my carbhos and I definately seee a change in the keto sticks: Dark pink in late afternoon.
For breakfast I have 2medium eggs with some cheese1/2 0z
lunch:chicken, salad [romaine,1 scalion 1 slice one quarter of red pepper] with oil /vinegar 1tsp.
sugarless jello with some home made whipped cream
dinner meat, fish or chicken about 4oz cooked, small salad or a cooked vegetable like kale broccoli, califlower
snack some cheese about 1oz, jello with some whipped cream.
I am not very hungry and I have been allright, emotionally,I am coming to grip with the fact that it is going to take time and it is going to be a struggle.
I have been exercizing slowly as I have pulled a ligament, such is life!
I want to wish everyone a happy holiday with lots of low carbho treats.

Rainbow, I don't touch any of those low carbo treats, heheh I've been doing this a long time, and it seems to work best if I just enjoy natural foods.

After re-evaluating what you eat, exercising when you can, and drinking water, the weight should start coming off. Give it time. The initial weight loss might be slow at first, it's water. Your electrolytes must be in balance before you body will give that up. Then the real fat burning will begin. Hang in there. And give up the lowcarb bars if you are eating them.
