Hello all! I have been lurking for a while and now that I am starting over again I thought I would at least pause a moment and say hi. I have tried Atkins before and I got within about 4 pounds of my goal and then went to Disney world and that was pretty much the end of that. I am starting over fresh today even though I know this time of year is the worst time to start any diet. I figure this way, if I do fall off the wagon, I will still be better off than if I hopped off of the wagon as soon as the holiday's rolled around. I have seen you guys give some really great support over the last few weeks that I have been looking around here and I hope I can look forward to getting and giving some of that myself!

Tracy

Hi Tracy. I think this is the BEST time to start a new way of eating. I started last year around this time, and it was the first year that I didn't gain any weight over the holidays. You have a solid block of time between Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's to do induction. After that, even if you treat yourself to a bite of cake at a work event or a cocktail at a party you'll be miles ahead of where you would be if you waited.

Congratulations on your decision to do this for yourself. This website is a great resource. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
