I have been low carbing off and on for the past year-not much success, but I knew that it worked well for me when I stuck to the plan. But this weekend-wow. We spent the weekend with my mother-in-law. I gained 7-count them 7! pounds back in 4 days. Cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, pie, cake, pasta, plus fast food driving to and from Arkansas from here. And I was so tired and felt awful the whole weekend. That was really a testament to how carbs affect me. Please let me remember how BAD I felt from the ups and downs in my blood sugar. How bloated and sleepy I felt all weekend. And how easy it was to undo my hard work. Let THIS be the time I succeed and whip this battle with my weight once and for all.

Radonskies,

Grab a journal and write down, in the most vivid detail possible, exactly how you feel as a result of your recent eating patterns. Then, when you are tempted next time, read it. It's all to easy to "forget" how terrible we feel when we abuse our bodies with food.

Also, see it as a learning process - examine why it happened and what set you off. If we learn from our mistakes instead of just beating ourselves up and feeling guilty, we will get that much farther next time.

Good luck in your journey!

Staci

Radonskies,

I have cheated a few times but not to bad. It DID send me into feeling awful and remembering how terrible I felt.

What I did is make a small list and put it on the fridge of how I felt when I ate something that wasnt on a low carb diet. Just recently I ate a small package of PB crakers of my daughters.....the next day I had the awful headache, stomach problems and some allergy symptoms from what was in the crakers. My body doesnt do well with grains. Let alone what other ingrediants were in the stuff.

I hope this helps Good luck to you!

Blessings,

Carol
