    Blood sugar 6.2 mmol/l (was 7.8)
    HDL 0.7 mmol/l

I was asked or rather told that the diabetic diet was doing well and that I should stay on it.

When I told them, I was not on the recommended diabetic diet but on a low carb diet, I watched their blood pressure rise (how dare I not take their advice) I informed them that I will never eat bread again, whole grain or otherwise and that low fat processed food meant high sugar, high starch poison, the very reason that the western world was suffering with obesity.

I was told to come back in three months and the best bit of all the doctor informed me that I WILL have to take the medication if she says so.

Time for another change I think.

    Umm, EXCUSE ME????

I agree with Lisa! Last time I checked, this was still a FREE COUNTRY.
How dare she tell you that???
I have never known a doctor to have the audacity to make such an insulting (and untrue) remark like that.
She can no more *make you* take the meds than I can make you buy a horse!
It is DEFINITELY time to seek out a new physician.
And I would write a letter to this one explaining WHY.
    Sorry... rant/off.

Oh, ps: GREAT NUMBERS!!! Congratulations on your awesome success!

I dont take medication of any kind until i have made sure that the side effects won't kill me.

I trust doctors as much as I trust a rabid BAT.

I will stay on my new way of eating, regardless, because I feel good the best I have felt for years

I dido everything said... THAT for sure!

I am glad you have a mind of your own and you can decide if a treatment is right for you instead of going into it with out informing yourself! Doctors don't like us for that reason. My mom.. she literaly takes 28 pills and some injections a day. She will do what ever the doctor tells her to take. Of course she won't do any LC because HEAVEN forBID she stops eating her bread and potato's! Oh well.. I have come to terms that I can't save the world. (but it sure would be nice)

Again.. I am proud of you for using YOUR own mind!

As Far as any medication goes...I trust my Pharmacy more than anyone else EVER..specially when it comes to Med....PLUS I work there too! LOL SO any and all info from Med's I take right to them before I do anything!!!! Like The GREAT guy at GNC gave me a bunch of samples of Fat burners..which was so nice of him...but took it all straight to the Pharm. Well Im not taking any of it..cause its just all basically junk! I trust there opinions more than the Doctors when it comes to Medications....But that is just my 2 cents!!

I'd keep going to that same doctor just to irritate him and his staff.

    Doc
Thats my intention, I will be the first to be sacked (fired) from the diabetic clinic.

As a UK rep of low carbing, I intend to be a thorn in their side, I will prove that Diabeties UK and USA are wrong by example.
    Then let them prove otherwise.

Lez- I can sympathize! I had a really hard time getting my physician to approve/adjust meds as needed/Atkins for me. I switched to an endocrinologist and she wants me to do LC! At least some docs are starting to come around!

    Your number are terrific! WTG!

    Keep irritating your doc!
