Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been visiting this wonderful site since August and I finally got brave enough to come out. This is my first time ever posting anything, so bear with me! My name is Jen and have been on Atkin's since July. I have a wonderful 6 year old son and 10 month old daughter. I have struggled all my life like so many others with weight, and I feel like this wol has done so much for me so far besides just losing the weight. It's a little frustrating not to have anyone in my family (besides my husband) be as enthusiastic and supportive as everyone on this site is. I have enjoyed everyone's comments and advice. I just wanted to let you know how much you all have helped me. Hopefully I will come out of my shell and be more involved. Until then, thanks again!

Hi, Jen!

You know, reading your post made me realize just how little I talk about this woe with anyone. I eat by myself, I LC by myself...and when I do eat with others, it's a hassle. It almost makes me feel like a closet LCer, like I'm hiding something from everyone around me. But I'm so glad to have everyone here. At least we're not 100% alone, right?

Glad you decided to post!

Hey Jen, it's about time. I wondered who that was looking over my shoulder every time I am on this board, LOL.

It's great to have you here, visibly. We are gentle with newbies, so don't be afraid of us. We all want the same thing. And it really does help to have this wonderful network of support. And you might even have some pearls of wisdom for some new newbies who have just started. Hope to see you here often!!!!

Welcome, Jen!

I hope you'll post now and again to let us know how you are doing on this journey. It can be frustrating to be a LCer in a world that often denounces LC eating as extreme and unhealthy. It's really nice to be in the company of others that know it for what it is and will applaude your successes and offer answers to your questions.

I'm Staci, a homemaker with two kids ages 7 and 3. It's great to meet you! Welcome aboard!

Hi Jen!

Like so many others... I discovered this website about three months after I started LCing (18 months ago!) and it is just an exceptional place for information and support. I have made friends here that I feel sometimes I've known for years. As my DH would say, these are "good people".

Welcome aboard and as others have said, do check in every now and then and let us know how you are doing.... hey, and soon you'll be a vet and helping the newbies with their questions, too!!

good luck and welcome!

Hugs,
Rachel

Thanks everyone for the warm responses! It has brightened up my day. I have a quick question. I notice some people have their before/during/goal weight at the end of the post. How do you do that? It's probably one of these buttons by the "message" I'm afraid to click. It's encouraging to see these numbers for me when I read the posts. Thanks!

Jen,

you are right, it's one of those buttons you're afraid to push. Don't be scared, it won't explode!!! Go to the top of this page and click in the menu bar on My Space, then Profile. There are blanks to fill in at the right of the screen. Down at the bottome there will be text box (signature) for you to type your name if you wish. Below your name, type in your stats, hit the submit button, and that's it, yer done.

Welcome Jen!

This board is the greatest! I too come here a lot more often than I post but I am working on changing that. I wonder how many there are out there lurking???? I do know that even by lurking there is a lot of encouragement and knowledge to be gained.

Great to have you with us!

Hay Jen,
glad you "came out", I was embaraced at first to write on this post as I am not a good speller and I am not a very good typist, but no one has corrected my errors instead I get some great support and encouragment.
I have a long way to go to reach my weight goal and for me the road seems to be slow but I am enjoying the new ciber friends that constantly cheer me up and give me good advise.
keep posting and good luck to you.
