I have been reading in my atkin's book about using splenda instead of the pink or blue packets and also in cooking. Have people been using it and having any diarrea (sp) or anything?

Working hard on staying on induction.

According to the box, Splenda is a product derived from real sugar. No sugar alcohols here. It is widely considered to be a legal sweetener, even on induction.

Sweeteners such as aspartame, used in many diet soft drinks, have been known to adversely affect weight loss. Sugar alcohols (those pesky snack bars and fake chocolates) can also be counterproductive, with or without the diarrhea effect.

For now, have a little Splenda (for example, in the whipped cream on your SF Jell-O) and stay the course. Best wishes!

Thanks for all the info. I think I had an adverse reaction to the "bars". (some intestional distress - lol) I'm glad it isn't the splenda ( I like it)

It was definitely the sugar alcohols in the bars. AVOID them like the plague. Maltitol and Lactitol are the biggest culprits.

I use Splenda, Sweet&Lo and Stevia (3 S's) Stevia is HIGHLY concentrated and all natural. It comes from a plant in South America. I use it in my decaf coffee. YUM. You can find it in health food stores in the nutrition section-supplements. The FDA won't allow it as a food. A teeny bit goes a long way. Stevia Plus is the best.
