Basically you just nuke cheese in the microwave 'til it's bubbly and melty. Cut it up into "crackers" while it's still hot. When it cools off, it hardens and really does taste like cheese crackers. Some of the grease separates, I just soak that up with a paper towel. If it's not hard enough, nuke it a bit more.

I just slice rectangles off a brick of cheese and nuke on an oven safe plate. Like Barb said, they will "leak" oil. Just drain them on paper towles and blot.

The time you nuke them will depend on your microwave. Probably 1-3 mintues.

I just wanted to add... Don't use a paper plate! The first time I made them, I had to scrap it because they kind of fused to the paper. Also if you get them off the plate before they are totally cool it helps.

DUhhh me!! All this time I have been doing it in the oven! Never thought in a million years it would work in a microwave!

Tanya, you crack me up,

You can't NOT learn anything new at these boards. Isn't it great?

Tanya,
the first time I made them it was in the oven. (Not with the paper plate. That wouldn't have been pretty.) It took much longer then the microwave did and I think they actually taste better nuking them!
My favorite is sharp cheddar. They taste like Cheese Nips.
