Hey again everyone! It's probably been about 10 months since I was here last. I lost over 40 pounds on Atkins which led to a surprise pregnancy! I didn't completely leave on purpose all that time. But with one thing and another, I just got lost! My former screen name was OnMyWay.

I tried to come back right after my baby was born, but I couldn't log back in under my old name. Then I was going out of town to house sit for about a month, then we went visiting for the holidays and here I am back. I see things have changed and it looks great!

I gained about a TON during my pregnancy (the official report is 43 lbs, but I think it was more.) I have about 15 pounds I think to get back to my pre preg weight. I tell myself that I've finally lost all the baby weight, now I just have to lose the "quit smoking" weight. THEN, I have an additional maybe... 60 lbs to lose after that!

I'm breastfeeding now and trying to balance losing weight very slowly with not eating so many carbs that I start craving again. It's being very hard for me! I wasn't anywhere near ongoing weightloss carbs, much less lifetime maintenance. So I'm still trying to figure it out.

Well, without making this a BOOK, I'm glad to be back. Here's the birth announcement if anyone would like to see a baby pic.

Hugs all around,
Cassandra

Hi, Cassandra.

Nice to see you back!

What a beautiful little "side effect" of this way of eating you've had! LOL!

Since you're nursing, you're right that it would be best to "back into" this way of eating by starting with lifetime maintenance and not backing off to a ketotic state until the little one is weaned.

Hope you'll keep us posted!

Hi Cassandra!

What a great day to have a baby! Our youngest, now 5 yo, was born on Sept. 18th too!!! Oh, and I know where Brookhaven is too - used to have friends who live there.

Welcome back!

Hey, welcome back Cassandra. Ditto what everyone has said about your little LC surprise! Didn't name him "Atkins", eh?

Cassandra, what a beautiful son! You must be so proud of him. I can remember my two babies, just seems like yesterday that I was where you are. Now, they are 16 and 18 years old.

Check in on the forum each day, even if you can stay only a few minutes. It keeps me on track. You know what it takes, you'll do it!

Take care~

He is soooo adorable! Congrats to you and your DH!

P.S. the reason why you couldn't log in under your old name is because andrea switched us to a new web server after she was featured on E-diets. The old site became hit with hundreds of new ppl at once and it couldn't keep up. This one is much better anyways!

Congratulations, Cassandra.

My husband and I are thinking of starting our family....I sort of want to put it off until I've lost a bit of weight, but I'm really hearing the biological clock and the nesting urge. I've often wondered how much weight I'd pack on during the process....I know it's worth it but if I gain even one more pound, I'll have to get a bigger size of clothes. It'll worry me.

Best of luck on your losing journey! And congratulations on that baby!

Jana
