Hi everyone,

I've not been able to post for a while 'cos I've been really busy at work and I've been away a lot too.

I've found it a bit of a struggle being away, breakfast & dinner are usually no problem, I've found hotel restaurants to be very accomodating & will cook to my needs.

The big problem is through the day. 'Cos I'm in meetings or training courses I don't want to drink too much water 'cos it's not so easy to visit the loo as often & so far lunch has been provided and guess what - it's nearly always sandwiches! I find it best to make an excuse like "I had a big breakfast & I'm not hungry" so I dont embarrass the host. I usually do have a big breakfast 'cos I'm very much one of those girls who eats plenty when it's offered 'cos you never know when it's gona be offered again! I don't usually feel hungry and don't feel deprived but I know its not good for me to go long periods without food.

So far I've not had the confidence to forewarn the host that I don't eat high carb foods 'cos I don't want to be labelled but I've got an all day meeting tomorrow & I took a big breath & told them that I follow Atkins. I got a really nice surprise by the reaction. They called me back to say that they had spoken to the caterers and they will provide a selection of food to fit in with my WoE. I am so chuffed with myself for having the confidence to ask in the first place, I just hope I'm not expecting too much of them and end up disappointed.

I'll keep you updated

Murron

Got so carried away with eating when I'm away I forgot the real reason for my update!

Weighed and measured myself this morning. I've now lost 14lbs - wahoo!!

I've also lost a massive 11" off my measurements, the most noteable 2 1/2" from both my waist and hips which means I've also gone down a dress size & strangely enough a shoe size too!

Yesterday I also achieved one of my goals when I bought a pair of knee high boots. I could never get the zipper past my chunky calfs before.

I feel sooooooo good about myself

Way to go, Murron!

You're doing wonderfully, and under less than optimal circumstances!

You put on those new boots and do the happy dance!
