I found this board several months back when I was looking into LC. You all were a big help to me and I did very well for awhile. I ended up cheating with creamsticks and the like and it just snowballed from there. I ended up giving up because I was so frustrated with myself and my lack of willpower. This was about 6 months or so ago.
I've decided to give it another go as of tomorrow. I really feel my mind is set about this and that I'm more focused this time.
Also...for anyone with doughts about this diet...A girl I work with borrowed my Atkins book to read when I was done with it 6 months ago. She has now lost 73 pounds!!! I've never seen her so excited over something and she truly deserves a pat on the back for her accomplishment!!
Thanks for your time.

Welcome back Sherry, it's great you are giving this another try. It's also wonderful that you have someone there you can partner up with locally. That's great. Pat yourselves on the back for me, too!!!!

Snowball effect, yeah... That has nailed me before.

The best way to avoid the snowball is to not let it get rolling in the first place. Every little cheat degrades your commitment and morale, so that before long you are just making excuses instead of working the plan. Don't fall for the "Just one bite won't hurt" fallacy.

Thanks for your support guys!!
Day one is over and I did very well.

I'm around food all day at work also, Sarah. My downfall there is usually oatmeal with an applebran muffin! (and of course I just HAVE to add raisins, pecans, brown sugar and sometimes some cut up banana to the oats!) Boy how I'd be in dreamland if that meal were carb free! lol

mm that sounds good too...
i think i saw a recipe somewhere for lc granola... i think it had pumpkin in it.., that might be an interesting alternative to the oatmeal. I think its in the recipe section of this website.
