| I've been reading many many posts and somewhere, someone mentioned one of the supplements that really helps ward off cravings for sweets. I didn't write it down and now I can't find the comment again. Can anyone tell me what that is, please? Also, I've been LCing for about three weeks but did not adhere to induction as stricly as is recommended, and still lost 6 pounds. Should I just go on from here as I've been or would there be an advantage to going back to the strict induction phase for two weeks? Thank you in advance for all your help. I'm new but this support group looks to be a huge advantage. |

| Welcome, Bates, to the forum. The supplement you refer to is L-Glutamine. A couple of things I can suggest. Make sure you're getting enough protein and fat in your diet at this point, it will help with craving. Also, there's been a lot of debate on LCE regarding the supplement L-Glutamine and using it to knock the craving for sugar. I have used it some, mine are 500mg. You can get them at Walmart, HFS, any place that sells vitamins and supplements. First, check your diet as I mentioned earlier, drink plenty of water and then if extra help is desired, try the L-Glutamine. Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02 |

| Welcome, dkb04. I think if you're in ketosis and losing, there's no need to re-do induction. Susan gave you great advice: eat plenty of "lc legal" foods and drink, drink, drink your water. When you crave a sweet, try one of the treats in our recipe database. I think there's a great psychological advantage to knowing that there are plenty of delicious treats available that are consistent with this way of eating. No one has to feel deprived doing this lifestyle, which is why it can be a lifetime approch to eating. Keep posting. You'll find lots of support here! | Cottage cheese is even better at warding off sweet cravings. That's always been my experience. Yeah, it's not that tasty, but it seems to quell something. ************** "Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who the person is you're talking to.
