Ok. This is something new to me. I told my aunt I was doing low carbs and she told me to be careful when I asked why she said "Because they said on the news that people have died from doing that because they weren't getting everything that they neededd." I told her then that they probably didn't read the book and about the supplements that you need to take. More than likely they did a very incomplete study on the people who died and blamed this when there were probably other problems not even the fact that they may not have been taking supplements. When the story about Atkins comes out on dateline I'm going to have to call her and let her know that it's on. She agreed that she didn't know much about it so that was good on her part. But that is crazy that that happens. I know it happens all the time but that doesn't make it any less crazy!!

Yes, Sue.

We low carb nutritional plan people are suffering from an acute deficit of twinkies, wonderbread and hershey's kisses.

... alas ... I died three years ago from a "junk food deficit." (RIP)

LOL,

Yeah, I'm dead too PLUS I've lost almost thirty pounds of WATER!!!!! AHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!

I just wish I would have listened to all of "them" and gone back to my vitamin enriched doritoes. I'm such an idiot for eating all these fresh veggies and healthy oils. What was I thinking???????

This stuff cracks me up. I, too, have heard onthe news about people dying when doing this woe. Of course, there has been no study, and the sum total of dead people is something like three, OK, maybe five. Frankly, I worry more about getting hit by a bus.

oh...ya know what I think they are basing there oppinions on are people who had liver or kidney problems and then died doing Atkins or LCing...that is a bad thing...I hear....because there Kidneys or Livers cant handle it?? So they were sick to begin with or didnt know they had a problem in the first place.....
Just my 2 cents of course....

The fact remains that there are always people that will react poorly to ANY LIFESTYLE/FOOD PLAN -- no matter how "healthy" it is.

Next time you see something like that, ask the person how many people per year die from eating McDonald's fries, milkshakes, etc. -- it's a lot more than those who are trying to maintain a healthy weight on a sensible eating plan like Atkins, Zone, etc.
