Ok I'm about to hop on the no scale bandwagon! Why is it that saturday I weighed at 211 and today is 215???!?!?!?!? Is it because of the 2 Tbs of natural peanut butter???!! I exercised Sat, Mon and today and was very active on Sunday. AND I've been drinking my water. Could it be because I've been exercising? But that's 4 lbs of muscle in 4 days! Or is it because the stupid scale at pulix was wrong today or it was wrong saturday.... Makes me so mad I wanna eat some bread! But I'm not because there's health reasons involved. First I'm still tired NOW the scale or my body is playing tricks on me. I don't even want to exercise today, but it's too late already did it earlier help me! help meeeee :squeaky mouse voice: I wanna loose weight too! Do you think they came back because they missed me? Or that I was so happy to see them gone they got mad and came back? Or maybe they're just visiting? Maybe they'll be gone tomorrow....Not getting on the scale to find out though. I need a tape measure. But what if THAT flucuates?!!!?

I'd vote for "they came back because they missed Me". LOL
A scale is nice to have in the house but it should be used sparingly. Once a week weigh-in works for me. some opt for monthly weigh-ins. what time of day was it when you weighed in? what were you wearing each time. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you didn't get naked in publix when you weighed. weight fluctuates throughout the day and winter clothing can weigh 5 to 7 pounds or more (including shoes). IMHO you might benefit from owning a scale even though that may lead to the frustrations you're currently feeling occurring more often. The ideal time to weigh yourself is just after you wake up, after using the facilties, and wearing as little as modesty permits. With a scale at home you'd be getting a more accurate or at least consistent reading. BUt remember that water weight will cause fluctuations.

Yeah...I'm thinking scale in my house...big no no. And for the exact reason you listed. Maybe I could exert some type of self control with it like I'm exerting by not eating bread! I'm really ready to go shopping. I refuse to go at the size I wear now. Waste of money. Don't plan to be here long! Just visiting for a spell! The last time I weighed in I don't think that I had eaten yet. This time I did it on my way home from work....hmmm....what time does publix open? Maybe I could go BEFORE work and see how that goes. Maybe that would solve my difference problem. But if it's still the same I think I'll fall off the scale and lay on the floor of publix until the weight just falls off from lack of eating...doesn't sound like too good of a plan to me...I kinda like eating! It's not really winter here so unfortunately my clothes don't weigh too much. I was dressed about the same the last time I weighed myself. It's probably that time of day thing...interesting.

Everything Rob said, plus"

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Could it be because I've been exercising? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes. 1. Exercise causes muscles to "swell" - ya know, pumped up. 2. Exercise, over time, causes muscles to develope and muscle weighs more than fat. This is a GOOD thing though, since muscle burns more efficiently than fat. Every bit of muscle makes you a better "fat burning machine" than you were.

Hang in there!

Suenos, I vote for......."Just visiting." Don't freak too badly, honey. Daily fluctuations are normal and ditto to Rob and Maggie's replies. Weighing once a week is almost tooooooo much. So lay off the scale for awhile, and for heaven's sake, don't starve yourself lying on it either, LOL. Give yourself time. I remember back in the day when I first started and weighed DAILY. I drove myself nuts. So then I lightened up. Relax and enjoy the ride.......weeeeeeeeee.

That's just the way normal people lose weight. It goes down, it goes up, it goes down some more, it stalls, it goes up, it goes down. That's why I don't weigh myself on a daily basis. It's like worrying about the daily meanderings of a stock you've invested in for the long term.

I never thought of myself as normal....I guess this just about verifies that I am. Now I can tell my mom that! hahaha I'm going to get her the book she was asking about it and sounded kinda interested.

I'll convert the world yet! Thanks for all the good advice. I really appreciate it!
