SURE!!!! It doesn't crisp up like fries, although I didn't use LARD. Maybe pure lard (unhydrogenated-read the label carefully if you get some-meat department) would crisp them up. They are delicious, but take a looooong time to cook. You can do them like chips too. Also I have done turnips that way, pretty tastey, but same result as Jicama. Experiment. They also shrink quite a bit, so make LOTS!!! Have FUN!!!!! YUMMY YUMMY!!!!!

YEAH!! I think I'll try that! Sounds GOOD. I could start a new chip Jicama chips! Yummm.. think I'll try that over my extended weekend! They're just like a potatoe! Kinda. How do turnips taste? Never had those and never thought about eating those. Going to red lobster tonight. That's going to be a lil' tough....those cheese garlic biscits!! I'll ask them to bring only a few to the table because my BF has GOT to try them he's never had them and he has no idea how amazing they are. I'll be able to handle though. He can eat bread all day long and be fine he's wants to GAIN weight but can't figure out what to eat to do it. Poor thing. I want to lose he wants to gain...If I could give him mine I would!

Turnips are about the size of a baseball, maybe smaller, off white with purplish tops. They taste a bit like cabbage (which you should like!!!) when diced and boiled. As chips and fries they are quite bland.

I know what you mean.......my DH has only begun to start gaining a teeny amount of weight and we've been married 15 years. He needed to gain too. If he doesn't eat noodles for 2 days, he drops 2-3 pounds instantly..........men are poops, the lose so fast.

Gosh I don't know what to tell you about Red Lobster........don't even take one bite of those decadent, tastey little carb balls...you'll fall off and hit your head!!!! See if you can get some steamed veggies instead. Are you gettin' a steak? Oh my mouth is watering!!!! We're having cold shrimp and cocktail sauce, veggie platter, LC Tortilla cinnamon thingies and LC tortilla mini pizzas for appetizers tonight. Oh and cheese cubes. Some of these recipes are going to be in Sharron Long's new book. Can't wait 'til she comes out with it, it's gonna be a good one!!!!
