I haven't felt the burst of energy that everyone keeps talking about and I'm on my 3rd week. I've been cleaning more and doing alot more but I am still SOOOOO tired! I exercise because I make myself no matter how tired I am I leave the house and go to the next neighborhood to get a walk in. I feel pretty good when I'm walking but I would LOVE to take a nap as soon as I get home everyday. I work in insurance so it's not like I have a WHOLE lot of activity going on during the day that would tire me out. HELP! I want a burst of energy too!

Suenos,

I didn't get the "burst" -- what I got instead was a gradual increase of energy.

How is your water intake? Are you drinking close to a gallon a day?

Blessings!

Yeah, me too, sorry to say. I didn't get a real BURST, ever. But now that I am going to Curves 3x's per week, I am feeling more vigorous. I do wake up peppy, but some days I take a nap around 3 pm. My first 4 weeks were like I was on sleeping pills. But that DID pass. So give it time. As you move onto OWL and add back things like strawberries and cream and nuts, it should get better.

I'm tired too, but I'm only on day 2. I remember that it passes, eventually. It took me almost a month last time...hang in there!

Suenos, I would say go ahead and try it out, but if you stall big time, that might be the culprit. So be ready to re-evaluate.

Welcome Amy!!!!! It's great to have you with us!!!

I do B-Complex which really gets me going. Although, during induction that didn't even help. It's something you kinda just have to ride out.

You know, this is really go to know because I've been waiting on my burst! I have more enthusiasm to work out because I know that my body is a furnace right now. But I'd like for the other things people are experiencing to happen for me too. Since my weight is dancing! I do feel better about the way I'm eating though and I do feel slimmer.

Also, you might consider that you might actually be drinking too much water...

1/2 body weight in ounces of water daily is the general recommendation. You should be drinking a little less than a gallon.

Dunno, but it is a thought!

Exercise helps me tremendously as well

Blessings!

I kept waiting for my burst of energy, too. What I gradually realized (after my first few miserable days of induction) was that my energy had evened out. For years before I started this way of eating, my blood sugar was so unstable that I was on an energy roller coaster all day. With many dips of sleepiness, fuzzy thinking and "sugar seeking" behavior, since I knew that it would, temporarily, lift me up a little.

Having the same level of energy all throughout the day has been wonderful. I was never a high energy person, anyway.

I have always known that if I needed a burst of energy, all I had to do was eat less food for a couple of days. When I was doing final exams, I would deliberately eat lightly so I could get that little extra bit of energy. Then pig out after the finals. Just to be clear, I'm talking about back when I WAS NOT DIETING. It just has always been a convenient way for me, personally, to get back on the top of my best game.
