The Wal-marts in S. Cal don't have grocery stores, but you might want to try Vitamin City in Long Beach. It is on Spring St. near Palo Verde Ave (Albertson's Center). There is a low carb store in Huntington Beach, but they are very expensive. Trader Joes is also a good bet.

Yeah, being in Cali, I would think you would have a TJ's there. Didn't TJ's start in Cali? They have O'soLO buns, LC tortilla chips, milk and egg powder, of course, meat and veggies, eggs and bacon, frozen green beans to die for, all kinds of stuff.

Not sure where Paramount is, exactly, but I did most of my LC shopping online for the first year (Netrition, Pleasantville Cookies (RIP), Greenbeanz (which is now something else too), etc.). I found plenty of good foods online and did my local shopping at Trader Joe's.

If you're anywhere close to Hollywood, come over to Lo-Carb-U http://locarbu.com on Melrose. Total kick-*** shop for low-carb goodies. I'm trying to hook up the former Pleasantville Cookies with them, plus LCAndrea's awesome merchandise. *fingers crossed*

Do a little online research, you can order most of the things you need. Then, eventually, you'll find local choices. Just hang in there. LCE is TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!

Woo hoo!!

I just noticed today that Walgreens is now carrying the complete line of Atkins products, pizza crust, cereal, pasta, etc. Prices were just a tad higher than the grocery.

I have the address of Vitamin City: 6261 E. Spring St., Long Beach, CA. They carry a large assortment of SF DaVinci syrups in the large bottle for $5.99. They have very good prices on flax and also have produce and frozen food section. They are very helpful. You can buy your meat at the Stater Bros. across the street.

P.S. Paramount is just north of Long Beach--about 20 miles south of Hollywood/Los Angeles.

I'm in Long Beach, too, near South and Atlantic.

Misty, thank you for mentioning that vitamin center!!! I'd love to get some Davinci syrups! I only have a bottle of Torani irish cream and it's precious to me.

Sandra, I posted a thread about the Von's in Bixby Knolls on Atlantic. It's only a couple of miles from you. They've gone berserk with low-carb candies. That having been said, I don't suggest eating them. They'll blow your diet.

Trader Joe's is just a couple of blocks south of there on Atlantic, too. It's where I do most of my shopping. If you're unlucky, you'll stumble into me.

I also shop at GNC in the local mall...they have a whole section of LC foods, including fresh baked breads and the MOST yummy individual cheesecakes in their freezer!

Lucky to meet me? Oh pshaw! (Thanks barb heh...)

Hey, Misty, I tried Vitamin City yesterday! It was very interesting. I grabbed a few items, including raspberry Davinci syrup.

One of the fellows working there was very interesting to talk to. It turns out he got his degree in fermentation sciences. We had a long and very technical discussion that wandered from yogurt to sugar alcohols. I'll probably be going back there often.

sandra~

This may not be the answer you're looking for, but in my opinion, the very best low-carb products can be found in the meat and produce departments of your local grocery store.

Best wishes!
