I'm curious about eating beans (brown, garbanzo, etc.) South Beach says they're ok...but my mom borrowed my Atkins book and took it to Florida, so I can't check the "legality" of beans. Can anyone help? I'm curious about making chili and hummus dip. Thanks!

I can't find my Atkins book either but I'm pretty sure that the only bean that is allowable on OWL is soy beans. Eden makes black soy beans that are only 2 net carbs per cup. Marcie has a couple recipes at the following link:

JUst make sure to read the label on teh beans you buy to be sure it's the right one.

What about chana dal beans? They are supposed to be really low on the glycemic index. Anyone know about them? I have a bag in my pantry that I haven't used yet.
