OK people, I am so frustrated of going 5 weeks with NO CHANGE that I have decided to try the "Fat Fast." Although I think that anybody can lose weight by going on some whacky diet for a few days.

I made the decision because this morning I gained 2 POUNDS. Of course this might be water (I drank 4 liters yesterday). Anyway, I will post my menu here every day and let you know if this jumpstarts and I can then move into OWL.

Breakfast: 2 oz. sour cream w/Splenda & 1 Tbsp crushed pecans.

Snack: 4 macadamia nuts.

Exercise: 3-mile walk.

Water: 1.5 liters.

Lunch: 2 hardboiled-eggs with the yolks mashed with 1 tsp. mayonnaise and squirt of mustard.

Water: 1.5 liters.

Snack: 2 oz. sour cream w/Splends & crushed almonds this time, 4 macadamia nuts. (12 macadamia nuts altogether make 1 oz.)

Water: 0.5 liter.

Supper: don't know yet. Drinking the water kills my appetite.

Wish me luck, people! (I need it)

Oh yeah, sig:

Update:

Snack: 1 oz. cheese.

For the first time since beginning Atkins 7 weeks ago, I AM HUNGRY. I AM VERY HUNGRY.

Ketosis strips did not indicate presence of ketones, this might be because of all the water I am drinking the urine is too diluted.

I AM VERY HUNGRY.

If I am going to be this hungry, it ain't gonna work.

I'll tell you from my experience, that when I tried cutting out the fat, I was always hungry, no matter what I ate, I was hungry.

I am not cutting the fat, on the contrary, fat is all that I am eating.

Kristie,
It is just the opposite. It is a diet of mostly fat!

Angelette,
Do you have any VCO? (virgin coconut oil)
I found that if I melt 2 T until it is liquid and then drink it down, (I know it sounds horrid, but it's not)I have mega energy and it really suppresses my appetite. I think you need more fat on the fat fast. That is what keeps you from getting hungry.

I don't have any coconut oil. OMG that sounds completely gross. I only have olive oil, butter and mayonnaise.

I have only 200 calories left (on "fat fast" you have to count calories) from my allotment for the day.

I have never been so hungry since I started Atkins. And I am craving A BIG SALAD.

I think I would skip the nuts and go for the pure fat.
Here is some info on VCO

Good Luck to you!

I am going to wet the bed tonight just reading about all the water you drank. This 'fat fast' doesn’t sound very good to me. I tried the egg fast they were talking about and by dinner I was starving. So I had a good low carb dinner. I can't imagine having a couple ounces of sour cream and calling it a meal. How long does this fat fast go for? I think you need a moderator to comment on this fast.

I might be wrong, but eating just fat, or more fat, that doesn't seem too healthy. Am I wrong?

If you are doing Atkins then you would have read all about the fat fast in DANDR. If you are trying to low carb with out a plan then you will probably fail. www.atkinscenter.com will tell you about the fat fast and why it works. It is good for someone who is metibolically resistent.
Also here is a good site for some fat fast recipes.

Where do you think I found out about the "fat fast" if not from reading the Atkins book? I have done everything possible recommended in the book. I am not trying to "low carb without a plan" unless there are additional plans within Atkins that aren't mentioned in the book.

It's just that after 7 weeks I would like to see some results instead of going backwards.

Update:

Supper: 1 liter water while I decide if I am going to continue with this "fat fast" or eat a big salad.

I wasn't refering to you Angelette. I was responding to the others who didn't seem to know what the fat fast was.

Angelette
As leery as I have always been about teh fat fast I think if you are following Atkins plan then I have no right to tell you not to listen to what he has written in his books. Just be sure you are doing it right. Here's link to an archived article from the Atkins website. It gives background on the fat fast as well as some cautions. Might be helpful.
