Hello,

I'm 5'2, started Atkins 09.02.03 at 148lbs, have lost 28lbs so far. Did not start exercising until 2 weeks ago and can notice the improvement in muscle tone, but what can I do to tighten/tone up this skin that is now too big for me?
Will it tighten with continued exercise?
Help! I am not liking the looks of it at all!
I am looking for NON-surgical remedies please.
and if the answer is....there is nothing I can do about it, please, break it to me gently.
Thanks,
Marilyn

Welcome, Marjben.

You've had a significant weight loss in the last few months.

Your skin will shrink, but exactly how much won't be known for a year or so. There are many variables including age, genetics, how much weight you lost and how fast, how much you exercise, etc.

Even in people who have lost huge amounts of weight and are considering plastic surgery, they'll make you wait a year so that it's known how much tone you've regained.

Exercise, good hydration, moisturizing and patience are the keys here.

Yep, the skin should tighten up. This is a link to an eDiets article on how toning your muscles will help:

Thanks so much for both replies. What a relief!!!

Maggie, Even though I've never been a H20 drinker, (couldn't stand the taste) I've recently MADE myself start drinking it. I'm up to about 64oz a day and continue to work on increasing the amount. Glad to hear of another benefit of it, makes it a little easier to choke down. I hope at some point it will become a habit that I don't have to work at and will be as natural as breathing. Also have been using much more skin lotion once I noticed this happening. It's good to know I'm on the right track.

Kamren, I've printed the exercises from the article and will be adding them to my current workout. So nice of you to give me the info so I can help hurry this process along.

Was so excited about losing the weight as it was happening, that I hadn't even given my skin a thought, so it kind of snuck up on me and caught me by suprise.
Thanks again, I feel much better about it now.
Marilyn
