I recommend during induction to stay away from anything but real food. Protein, Vegetables, Water.

You will experience what is possible with appetite and craving control. Some of these low carb products will make you crave and feel deprived. When you add them in (if you choose) after induction; you will KNOW which ones are causing you problems.

I didn't know this the first time I tried Atkins. I found I can't handle some of these diet items. Its not worth fighting my insulin cravings. I like the control I feel without the extras. Water tastes better all the time. My taste buds have changed, I truly enjoy the food.. Just my opinion

My answer is, I don't know.

Isomalt is a sugar alcohol. Many sugar alcohols that are used in "low-carb" food (notice the quotes) will blow people's diets. Isomalt is not one I've had experience with.

I believe some Sorbee's are made with sorbitol and some with maltitol. Avoid the maltitol ones. The sorbitol ones, maybe. Sorbitol is the sugar alcohol they put in toothpaste. I've had bad experiences with sorbitol, but it might not be as bad as maltitol, so you can make your own mind up about that.

I'd just be cautious or skip it altogether. There are too many good snacks that don't have sugar alcohols.

Agreed....I would avoid all sugar alcohols during induction. What Kerry said is very wise. AFTER that, experiment a little and see what happens.
