| It's my first day on Induction and already I feel beyond stupid. I was really anxious to enter my foods at FitDay but can't figure out how to do it. For example, I had 3 scrambled eggs for breakfast with 3 mushrooms and about 1/4 c shredded cheese. Since I have to go to a dropdown list for everything, nothing that remotely resembles what I ate comes up. What am I doing wrong, and is FitDay as complicated as it looks right now? |

| For the eggs, just enter "egg" and search. It will bring up all kinds of foods with egg in it. Pick the one that I believe says something like, "egg, raw" and then choose the appropriate size egg in the menu and click "add to foods eaten." Some foods you'll need to customize. Just click the "add a custom food" and then enter all of the nutrition info. You'll only have to do that once for each food because it saves the food to memory. It's a bit time consuming at first but you'll get the hang of it and then you'll really appreciate it! 225/183/170? “I can conscientiously assert I never lived so well as under the new plan of dietary, which I should have formerly thought a dangerous, extravagant trespass upon health.” --William Banting (Thanks Lez) |

| I too thought it was more trouble then it was worth. But have found, with some patience, it really is a good tool. With your eggs and mushrooms - flip through the egg list till you find what you want (scrambled with butter) - add to foods eate. Now go through mushrooms - do you want to deduct the fiber?? Customize it, then add to foods eaten. Big hint - if this is a dish you think you will eat often - take the totals at the bottom of the page and make a customized food item - name it as you like (e.g. 2 eggs scram w/ mushrooms). This way you can just click on custom foods, hit add and it's inputted into your foods eaten. I know, it sounds like a lot of work but after a while you will have all kinds of custom foods that using FitDay will really be easy. hth |

| You'e not being stupid at all. It took me a while to get it down and it's the same type of software that I work with everyday. I found it easier to enter all my foods as custom foods, I'd just enter the info from the packages of from the USDA nutrion site. It takes quite a bit of effort at first to get the hand of the site, but it does get easier. If I remember correctly, there's also a short tutorial at fitday, or at least there used to be one. | Here's what I do. If I want to enter 2 fried eggs I search for egg boiled. Then choose 2 large eggs and then click-add to food list. Then I add the butter amount I used to fry them in. By always choosing egg boiled it stays in my recent food list. same with the butter. Rob 310/234.5/180 Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof. |
