Hi! I am trying to loose 107 pounds. I feel like this is such a huge goal. Am I fooling myself by setting such a large goal? I really want to do this, but I need help. Is anyone else trying to do this much? I would like to keep tabs with someone on the same page as me.

Good luck to all!

HI,
No you are not fooling yourself with that goal. I started out with a goal even higher than that and I'm 50lbs into it. YES, it can be done!!!

My goal is 110. I have found that instead of looking at the "bigger" picture. I look at the small ones. I have a goal of 3 lbs per week. Since I am becoming aware that just because the scale doesn't move it does mean that I am slimming down, so I also have a size goal every 6 to 8 weeks. Since I have 5 different sizes in my closet I want be spending too much money (That makes my husband smile)

I am determined.

Terra, WElcome to LCE!!! It's great to have you with us. There is a 100+ forum here. If you are interested in posting there, it can be found on the main page of the forum. Just go up to the top of the page here and click on "forum" and that will bring you to the main page. Then scroll down to the "100+" forum and there ya go.

Best of luck to you. Stick around here through your whole journey (and beyond) and you will get the help you need. After you lose the first twenty, I think the journey will get a bit easier. Set yourself some mini goals. It's like eating an elephant........one bite at a time.

My goal is to lose 172 pounds.
I've lost 140.
I've got 32 to go.

And by the way...no goal is "too large" in life. Find a plan and work your plan. You have never failed, until you fail to try.

You can do this. Trust me.

Thank you all for the support and nice comments. It seems like such a big task to do alone. I am glad to see others who are doing it and succeeding. It gives me hope. I will definitly be sticking around this site on a daily basis.

I started out with 130 pounds to lose but I just aimed to lose something by next weigh-in day. 1/2 a pound to 3 1/2 pounds was the range of weekly loss I experienced. Except, of course, for those weeks I lost nothing. Now that I have only about 55 pounds to lose it seems minor compared to 130. I think I got this far by never looking too far ahead.

When I started my goal was to lose 200 pounds. That was just over 5 months ago...and here I am 60 pounds lighter....It may seem like alot, but if you stick to it, it WILL come off.

I agree with every one else.. don't look at the whole picture.. look at each minute!

I thought the same way.. and it took me a few tries.. I started out with 142 to lose and now I have lost 92 of it! NOw.. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..but I still don't look that far ahead much or I get over whelmed!

Dear Seesko.

Goodluck. I'm sure you can do it.

I agree with April "there is no plan to big in life".

Always remember "Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail".

If it takes you half the time to take off the 100 pounds as it took you to put on then in my books you will be doing well.

Happy thoughts always.

Hi Terra!
At this time last year, I weighed 270 pounds. I have sinced lost almost 70 pounds, 30 from baby weight and the rest through Atkin's. I still have about 60 to go. I take it day by day, sometimes by the hour! Hang in there. Every little bit counts. I try to aim for a pound of loss per week. That way when I lose more, it's great. It will get easier as time goes on. I wish you the best of luck! It can be done.

I need to lose right at 100 pounds. I am currently 220 pounds @ 5' tall and 40 years old. I don't have blood pressure problems or heart problems, but that does run in the family, so it's probably just a matter of time..... I have asthma and although I know it's not caused by the wieght, I really think that carrying around so much extra weight is aggravating it. I'm tired of not being able to get out and really play with my kids. Especially my son. He plays soccer and I really enjoy soccer and would love to get out there and practice with him, but this extra weight puts so much stress on my knees when I run that I'm in pain for days afterwards.
And then there's the fact that I've been divorced for 7 years and haven't been on even one date since then. It sure would be nice to have a man look at me "that way". Sometimes I feel like people think of me as an "it", rather than a woman.
