I hit a plateau for almost a month. First of year, I decided to get on my tredmill and work out EVERYDAY for at least 30 minutes. I am so excited, I am doing it, showing a little gain in weight, but, being patient. Now..here is the embarrassing question. When I gained this weight, I got a real nice ummm chest to go with it. I would really like to keep as much of this as possible. Any suggestions as to what kind of excercises I can do on the treadmill to firm them up, and not lose several cup sizes while I am at it?? Second question is I am trying to make the weight melt of my belly. I am using one of those tight belts that make you sweat more in that area. Am I wasting my time using this thing. I seem to sweat under it all the time, even when I am not working out? I do try to hold my gut in while I am on the treadmill, but sometimes, I forget. I hold all my weight in my mid section and would like to stop losing weight off my skinny little legs! Need to lose it from under my breast to my haunches. Sorry so long

Darlene, low carb since 10/03 165/150 and holding ): Would like to stop holding and get on with it!! PLEASE!!!! (:

Darlene - hate to say this, but you probably will lose some of your endowment. You will burn fat from all over your body and that will impact the "girls". I can suggest, however, that you add some weight training - there are chest exercises that, by firming the pectorals muscles, will help keep things a little perkier, if smaller.

And lose the belt. Sweating in a particular part of your body won't help you to lose weight there. Sorry.

Hi Darlene,

I carry weight exactly the same way you do. I find it to be a huge pain in the @$$ (perhaps I should start calling it a pain in the abs?). Unfortunately, I don't have any advise on either of your questions.

My first 3 months of Atkins, my chest stayed pretty much the same. Then, one week, I had a 3 pound whoosh, and I swear it all come from that one area.

Anyway, I decided that I preferred healthy, thin and flatter chested to unfit, flabby and more nicely endowed.

Hmmm... This is getting a little personal. For future reference, the Women's Forum might be a good place to post slightly embarassing questions like this.

Keep up the excercise. It will make you feel GOOD.

LOL Mike,

Um, yeah, you will lose some there too. But as was said before, do some weights in that area and work you pecs.
