I'm dittoing Tara and April - no wish to offend, and I would never correct someone's spelling or grammar unless specifically requested to do so. I have to just laugh at myself that such a little thing can get me wound up sometimes - but I know it's MY quirk to deal with, not anyone else's.

One of the immutable laws of the internet is that any post correcting a spelling or grammar error will inevitably contain a worse one.

I came here for support of a NWOL, but I am scared about what this post represents. Is this the way the posts go? Worried about spelling? I sure hope not, since I am dyslexic, and takes me awhile to post as it is. If I have to worry about being made fun of, why bother? Don't worry I double check all my posts, it's a habit, I guess. Does it really matter how it's spelled? Who didn't understand what the person was asking about when they mis spelled that???? How many times did I mis spell words in my message? Mind you I was dyslexic years ago, but I comprehend words the way they sound now

Oh Kristie honey, I don't think anyone meant to offend you. I'm sure no one cares how things are spelled as long as we can get our message out and understood. I am a terrible speller and you know what...I could care less! Don't worry about it. It may be a pet peeve of some, but I'm sure they do things that would make others NUTS!

We are all here to support one another on are healthy WOL and that's what matters!

I would like to think that no one cares about the spelling, by the way, why have so many contributed to this conversation, when there are other questions that could be answered? (sp,)

Hey, no guessing about people's motives, please. I was honestly curious about why some wrote Atkins and some Adkins. Thought there might be some history I didn't know about.

I care about spelling, but I'm not going to pick on anyone's spelling here. I don't think anyone in this thread has. No sense getting your feelings hurt over something so trivial.

If I ever mean to offend someone, they'll know it.

Hmmm... I'm sort of offended by people who can't pronounce "nuclear" right.

GOOD GRIEF!

There's not one amongst us who has not made a typo, spelling error or committed some gramatical faux pas. Perfection is not one of the options with respect to the human condition, last I checked.

I don't do this often, but I really believe this thread has outlived its usefulness. It has nothing to do with advice to newbies in the area of low carb eating and we've never "judged" our members or moderators on their writing skills. We're about eating skills - developing them and maintaining them.

Let's get back to what we're about.
