Ok somebody's got to help me put here because I'm having a hard time with this. I can't seem to properly count the carbs in my vegetables. It's seem like it would be way too little food. For example, I buy frozen cauliflower (because it cooks faster) It says there are 4.5 grams of carbs per 1/2.( I know it not the Net carbs but I'm not doing the math while I'm in the kitchen) Now half a cup is not a lot but how do you measure half a cup? Is it half a cup of mashed cauliflower? (which is how I eat it) I find it difficult to measure a half a cup of any vegetable because it's such a small ammount. Same thing for broccoli. And is it just me or is half a cup a really SMALL ammount? On the atkins site they have the Carb Gram Counter BUT some of the foods are measured in table spoons, cup, 1/2 cups etc. but for cauliflower it says "6 each" what is 6 each of cauliflower??? Can anybody help me out, I'm stressing out over this.

thanks!!!!!!

Gen, don't worry about keeping it to half a cup. When I was on induction, I ate as much veggies as I wanted (in retrospect) Just give yourself enough to be a good sized helping and that will satisfy you. No one ever got fat eating too many veggies. I have a little food scale, so I weighed my veggies in the beginning. Usually portion sizes are also given in ounces on the packages. Go by ounces or grams. It's hard to measure those chunky buggars in a cup. OR get yourself a 2 or 4 cup glass Pyrex measuring cup, available at kitchen gadget stores and even grocery stores. You want a vessel that is larger than just a plain old 1 cup measuring cup. But don't stress out about this. I think I ate way more veggies than was recommended in the beginning and I lost weight anyway.
