I have a friend who has been LCing it. She just found out she is pregnant and asked if she should do anything differently. I told her she should ask her dr.. But she asked if I would find out other peoples experience with being pregnant and doing LC. Thanks!!

As always and especially with pregnancy, LC should absolutely be approved by your doctor.

Pregnant and lactating mothers should not be in ketosis. The amount of carbs eaten daily should be far ahead of the induction level of 20g. daily. Those women should be following the maintenance menu from Atkins...if that's the program in question.

Our moderator, Lawbooks, is expecting and is very well informed on this subject. I'm sure she will see this thread and share her knowledge.

Take care~

You might want to check the women's forum. There are a couple of threads on the topic, with posts from past and current moms to be.

BUT, for the safety and health of her baby, she must go by what her OB tells her.

I've always pretty much believed that a diet of whole foods and a lot of liquids has just been smart while pregnant, while getting rid of the JUNK. And don't forget the vitamins. She should talk to her doctor, for sure.
