Welcome to the forum, jg. Which program are you following? Have you read the book? You must read, and read again, it's your road map for success.

Breakfast can consist of normal breakfast fare- eggs, bacon, sausage. If you don't care for eggs, try leftover meat, maybe some hard cheese with it. I love salad on occasion, so I will have a nice chef salad. There are some good recipes in the cooking & recipe forum for sausage/egg muffins and other breakfast items. Be creative!

Take care~

Well, I've had about the exact same thing every morning since I started, because I know what I love to eat that works with the diet. I usually have cottage cheese mixed with salsa (no added sugars, which are evil), celery sticks with peanut butter, and a tomato with a glass of water and green tea. Recently I eat a grapefruit too since I'm past the first 2 weeks. I don't know if any of that sounds good to you, but the idea I believe is to find out what YOU like!

If you're on Atkins, on induction (the first two weeks) you're not allowed to have peanut butter, grapefruit, cottage cheese, and you need to be careful about the tomatoes, too.

Dutch, I'm not sure what diet you're on, but your advice isn't appropriate for Atkins.

I think for me breakfast is the hardest because it is when I have the least time and I have to bring to work! So, I make an egg bake w/ bacon and cheese on Sunday and bring a piece in each day of the week.... it doesn't bore me to have the same thing because it's really good....
Good luck

I also have a very limited time in the morning to eat before work, I have to get up really early as it is, so I get everything ready the night before, and cooking eggs in the morning is out, I am pretty much grabbing my stuff and going right out the door.

I was gonna just eat some Cold Cuts on my way to work, but I found a chocolate drink, called AdvantEDGE Carb Control, only 1 impact carb, 4 total carbs, 15 G of Protien and full of vitamins and minerals.

I bought it at Costco, but they have a website, www.eas.com, I want to see if I can get it cheaper online, or anywhere else.

Ditto on what Barb said...the beginner's guide is a great roadmap, and READ THE BOOK! Only certain foods are allowed during induction and you really need to be strict during that first two weeks to get good results.

As for breakfast ideas, I usually have 3-4 eggs, cooked in butter or grease, of course, and I either nuke some bacon or have sausage (read the labels for carbs) or some other type of meat, maybe sirloin patties leftover from the night before. You could make an omelet with allowed foods--that would be good, too. Just look at the allowed induction foods and see what you like.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your weight loss!

If you're beginning tomorrow, shouldn't you already have a plan that you plan to put into motion?

What plan are you going to follow? Once you decide that, buy the book, research everything you can about it, see if it will suit your lifestyle and needs, and THEN begin.

Short of that, read this:

Rules of Induction

Post here often for help, advise, and please tell us how you're doing so that we can gain inspiration from you!

Tim - I urge you to take the time to eat breakfast at home. Relying in those shakes and drinks will not help you in the long run. I am usually up by 5:00AM, and I have an hour and a half commute to work, so I know the challege you face. I can make a full bacon and egg breakfast in the microwave in three minutes (just cook the egg in a pyrex dish for 1 minute on half power - careful, do not explode egg) and m'wave bacon until crisp. Also, you can make salmon and cream cheese rollups the night before. You can also make hardboiled eggs, and cook bacon or sausage the night before, too. Just grab and go. Oh, and there is no reason you can't have a chicken leg or someother thing left over from dinner. Seriously, a good filling breakfast is one of the best things you can do to help yourself succeed.
