Hi All,
I'm curious about others supplement regimen. Can some of the veterans tell me what they take, how often and why this particular regimen works for them.

My regimen is this:
Atkins Basic #3 X2 (breakfast and dinner)
B-Complex X1 (morning)
L-Carnithine (sp?) and CoQ10 X1 (upon waking)
Total EFA X2 (with Basic #3)
Chromium Polynicotinate (sp?) X1 (morning)
Vitamin C 1000mg (morning w/Basic#3)
Magnesium 200mg (morning w/Basic#3)

And finally, Glucomannan (fibre in capsule form in morning upon waking) 3 capsules

I'm new to this supplementation stuff, am I on the right track? I feel okay, but my pee (can I say that?) looks funny.
Thanks for your input, gang!

You are easily doing better than average. I mainly take a generic centrum that I buy at walmart along with 1 or 2 vitamin C @ 500mg. If I had the extra money I would defenitely be on all of the official Atkins vitamins, but they are just too expensive for me.

The only other thing that I can think of is omega 3 fatty acids. I always eat omega eggs for breakfast. Either as an omlet with ham or bacon and cheese or as scrambled cheese eggs. I sometimes even have them for lunch as well (if I am home at the time). They are also found in fish. Atkins has a suplement that includes them, if you don't get them through your diet.

That's what I take, but mine isthe weight smart one. Nothing wrong with buying generic, they have all the same things, but without the pretty little wrapper.

Thanks, you two. I thought about the generic, but in Atkins book, he stessed that if you've been yo-yoing for a long time--and I have been for the last 20 years--your body may need more. You're right it is sooo expensive, but i figured I'm saving from all the burger king and mcdonald's meals!!

I take the following each morning:

calcium 1200mg
potassium 90mg
magnesium
Vitamin C
Multi Vitamin
Vitamin E

They are all the generic versions. I dunno the doses of some of them just now, because I'm at work. I could get that information when I get home and post it.

No, I think it's called Equate Complete. I got 130 pills for about $5.

I know that they all contain more or less the same vitamins, but sometimes I wonder if the officail Atkins pills have better absorption. I have heard some people say that the vitamins in powder form are easier to absorb. Anyone have any ideas about this?

When I can afford it I buy a complete nutritional supplement in powder form and I can feel the difference. (Reliv Now) I was told it is because powder is bioavailable. As soon as it hits your belly it goes to work. As far as pills go the Adkins supplements have worked better for me than other pills I have tried in the past but not as well as when I take the Reliv. This is my experience.

I used to take 40 vitamins a day but that got ridiculously expensive. Now I take

Multi-Vitamin-centrum performance
B-complex
cod liver oil for vit D and A(in winter only) 1/3 rda.
Garlic
fish oil capsules (huge)
E - 400 mgs
c-1000 mg 2x day
calcium mag zinc combo
msm with glucosamine (for joints)

I used to take CoQ10 but the price on that went through the roof a few years ago when it got a lot of press. If you can afford it - go for it.

Your vitamin regimen looks good. If it were me i would add a vitamin E but the only ones i consider essential are a good multi and vitamin C. But this is just my opinion.
The yellow urine is caused by vitamin B's (I think b2).

Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof.
