I don't understand.. I know don't depend on the scale, I read the sscale is a liar .. I actually did take my measurements, but I had a hard time with that... I can't seem to relax when I take it and I keep getting different numbers, why is it so hard for me? ANYWAY, yesterday the scale read 177, now it's back to 180, I know I shouldn't weigh everyday, but I did, and now what... all my hard work seems to have gone down the drain and I'm depressed all over... when will what I lose actually be real weight loss?

Celisa, measurements are difficult too. When I'm having a really hard time, I'll do best two out of three. Or best three out of four, or however many times it takes to come up with the same number twice.

As far as the scale, I feel your pain, but I think you already know what you need to do - stay off it for a while! It's not at all unusual for my weight to vary 3-5 pounds overnight. It's water, it's whatever you ate recently, it's where your digestive processes are at, it's hormones...there's a whole bunch of stuff going on there and to try to reduce it to one single number taken at one moment in time is futile.

Let the plan work. A watched kettle never boils and all that.

Celisa,

Check out Sharron's sticky at the top of this page about the scale being a liar and a cheat. This may help you feel a little better.

Hey Celisa, it's Chrystal!! Looks like we are in the exact situation! I restarted this again last Monday and have lost about 5 lbs. I did go back up a couple lbs. but a couple days later back down and minus another half! I too am discouraged, but I just am gonna stick to it this time and see if I can get it to work! I was up 2 lbs the other day so drank enough water to fill an ocean and dropped it all the next day! I can't say for sure that I'm happy w/ my results thus far, but it's better than nothing, and this time I'm adding as much exercise as possible!!
Email me and we can keep each other motivated, again,

love ya

Last year when I was on the diet part of LC. I weighed daily and 3 lbs can seem to be gained and lost overnight. I was tracking it to figure out how my food intake effected my weight. Quess what I cannot find any direct relationship but do find that as I look over a longer time period (like a week or a month) I was doing fine. But it caused me to go crazy sometimes. It isn't worth it. Weigh when it feels like you have lost weight and not before.

So now that I restarted I weigh once a week. I wasn't going to weigh during inductance but decided to see if their is a difference between when I don't exercise and when I do exercise. I am just trying to figure out my body. I may not weigh again until Feb 12th.
