I am actually enjoying the Adkins program this time and it isn't such a grind. I have exercised every day which has obviously helped. I think I will stay on the 20 carbs for a week or two longer if I can.

Mal W...
Congratulations! 13lb is phenomenal loss for induction! May I suggest not staying on induction for too long. Many here will tell you that just because 2 weeks of induction is GOOD, it doesn't mean that 4, 6, or more is BETTER. (Even though Dr. Atkins clearly said you may continue induction well past 2 weeks.) You run the risk of making your body very carb "hypersensitive", for lack of a better term, and then when you WANT to increase carbs, even a little, you gain. Plus, while you're ok with the food choices you have now, wouldn't it be nice to snack on some nuts or legal fruit? Believe me, adding legal veggies and small portions of legal fruit won't stall you. Much the opposite. (Of course on the same token, you cannot expect to continue at that rate of loss, and you wouldn't want to, for many reasons)

I've also lost a lot (16lbs.) since starting on Jan. 4th. I, like you, was considering staying at induction the whole month, but what Tara is suggesting makes alot of sense. Besides, I'm already getting a little bored with the same ol' same, so I'm now looking forward to OWL which will start for me on Sunday. Can't wait to eat some pistachios!!

Keep up the good work, this is definitely the best way to eat. I feel so much better than I did this time last week! And you gotta love this forum and all the wonderful, caring, and encouraging folks offering advice!!

Thanks for the advice and support. I guess adding 5 carbs a day in Veggies or fruit won't do any harm. I know some had mentioned tomatoes and onions as new carb items. I thought they were relatively low in carbs anyhow and have had them during induction.

Toamtoes and onions would be fine in smallllll amounts. They are naturally full of sugars. But they are natural, so I don't see them as really bad. I use a small amount frequently.
